I still prefer supermarkets. The meals are more delicious, bigger and cheaper. Depending on your area near Tokyo, if you find the OK Store, try to go there. They have very cheap food. I specially love the frozen noodles they have. They also have lots of variety of lunch and dinner food.

It's very nostalgic to see someone showing these convenient stores. I was in japan for 3 years. Now that I'm in the us again I really miss some things. Onigiri spam and egg sandwich things, rice triangle things, super bitter green tea in those 1.75L bottles (it really grew on me), good and cheap ice cream mochi, cheap-ish soju (not nearly as cheap as in korea though). Also, matcha, and matcha flavored ice cream, it's very good.

I think youd like the oden if you haven't tried it before! My favorite is the egg, daikon, and sausage if they have it. They also have this in hawaii where I live too. Not everywhere (oden), but there is Lawson here and other japanese food spots. Kind of a diverse food place imo ❤

I’ve never heard of a “convenience” store where I’m from but what I’ve seen so far it’s pretty much a general store. The stores here aren’t really like those as I’m in the south and ours has a different food type such as fried foods and common southern foods

The 7-11s in Hawaiʻi are VERY similar to the ones in Japan. You can get many of the same meals in our 7-11 stores, and a lot of the same snacks and drinks as well. We also have Lawson here, but I personally prefer our 7-11s over Lawson.
