24 Hour Guide to Basel, Switzerland

Art. Culture. History. Food. Luxury. The Rhine River. Basel has a lot going on and I had limited time to see it so I took in the highlights as fast as I could. My homebase was the Hotel Nomad, a trendy boutique with easy access to top sites like the Altstadt, or old city, the Marktplatz which has a farmer's market, Johann Wanner Christmas shop, the Kunstmuseum Basel, Fondation Beyeler and the Rhine River. We took river ferries to cross to Klein Basel, a funky neighborhood with a lot of great shops, cafes and of course, the notable Ueli Brewery.

I left my heart in Basel... had open Heart surgery at Basel University Hospital in 2011. A very memorable city for me.

Thanks. We are taking a Viking river cruise which terminates in Basel and your video just helped us to decide to spend a full day there before we head on to Luzern.

Basel is amazing and I go there a because my aunt lives there even though its a long travel experience from New Zealand to Basel I love it

It's indeed tranquil and really clean. You have a lot of museums. Try out to drive "Fähre" when you are here

I visited a friend in greelingen like an hour from basel, also good libraries in basel, and crossed to Germany, to Weil am rhein which was also ok. great video, elegant.

wasnt really interested in this touristy video. i dont really care for shops and restaurants. they offer nothing different than what is anywhere else or online. i would have preferred hidden gems. my last visit to Basel 2 decades ago was incredible. i wasted no time in getting away from the touristy areas and i'm glad i did. it was an amazing trip.
