Hitchhiking is probably the best way to travel. Just the sheer amount of cool people you meet. Me and my gf hitched through a national park in New Zealand and a farmer picked us up and ended up offering his entire 2nd farm house including free lamb steak and beer for two nights. Btw turned out the guy hitched through the whole of africa when he was younger

16:05 Haha i live in the Netherlands and I have to walk 5 minutes and I am in Germany if I walk 30 minutes I am in Belgium if I drive 2.5 hours I can be in Luxembourg and with 6 hours in France and in 16 hour's in Italy or Austria hahaha

You guys should do this as a competition where you randomly select a point in the world, and each have 4 days to get there without any money. Last one there has to colour their hair green for a week

This idea could have been much more epic if you split up in 2 teams and tried to see who could get further. I've heard of people hitchhiking from NorCal to Glacier NP in Montana in a day, now that was impressive

One of the best challenges ever! We always thought you need to hitchhike one day :D So glad you made it that far! It remindes us of our trip, when we hitchhiked the American east coast for over 1700 miles and always met such friendly people! It's sad that hitchhiking isn't more common in the US, but maybe through your videos it will be one day😀

Here are some reasons it was failing a lot of the time: -You set expectations high, nobody will give you a lift in a Jet. -You tried to overexplain. Nobody cares what reason youre hitchhiking for. Just hold up a sign with a destination and a simple "please". -You don't look like hikers. Most hitchhikers get picked up because they don't look like homeless bums, drivers can see their hiking gear and they know exactly what theyre there for. It's also a relatable thing a lot of drivers also used to/still do, they'll relate to you and pick you up. -For the first half of the video (the part I have watched thus far) you're not even by the side of the road. You're at a parking lot, where nobody is ALREADY travelling. And then outside the airport, you're standing at a bend, drivers wont have enough time to see you, get a read on you and make a decision on pick you up around a bend. Stand at a straight road by a place where drivers can safely pull over to the side of the road, when they're already travelling somewhere. It's more than likely people in the city are only running errands, taking you out of the city would be out of the way for them, going to a highway or smn will give you better chances of somebody actually heading further out.

flashbacks to the hundreds of rides i took hitchhiking. as a girl mostly alone in europe and mexico... traveling or commuting to school. so many uncomfortable moments with the weather, the waiting, the uncertainty and fear, pushing myself to trust strangers. it was not always good but sometimes it was mindblowing, freeing and there are so many instances that i won‘t forget so easily. especially the ones on the back of pick ups through the most beautiful landscapes.. just always make sure your backpack is as safe as you 😜
