In this video I head back to Todber Manor and hit up Little Hayes for the first time in a year! I have gained a lot more experience since the last time I fished this lake so I was hoping to put everything I had learned into practice on this session!
I caught an absolute beast which gave me one hell of a fight! Super fun but it made me realise I need to start taking a GoPro on my sessions to capture more footage of me playing these monsters!

I have used 3 rods for the past 2 years. Definitely get back leads in closer and the ND Butt locks are amazing- so much peace and mind with them. So cheap for a great product. I feel you on the lifting thou, I also have to hold my Sonik pod when lifting unless I have it pegged down.

i use the same butt rests and ive found that if you tilt the rod up when you pick it up rather than straight lift up will help with the rod pod lifting

@@leepullon1147 the Jag ones are decent, Sonik have a similar one but I find them all very clumpy and padlock type and that for me is a no no 🤣

Yeah I’ve used them for a couple of sessions now and they are great! The one that that I’m not too sure on is having half of it still attached to my rod whilst I’m casting or playing a fish but it’s not a problem! But good to see other people helping out in the comments! Tilting the rod is definitely going to be something I’ll do to help with lifting the rod off the pod! Thanks guys!

Hi Aaron , three rods are no problem on a pod. Just a point to note, have your rod pod further back from the bank , with rod tips just over the water when using back leads.The back leads will be just in the margin, and chances are you won’t get wiped out . Great video mate.

Funny you should mention two rods on a pod then a third rod on bank sticks far away from the Pod that’s exactly how I fish. As always great upload keep em coming.

I go for three rods most of the time. If the swim is tight use 2. Just cause you can use 3 doesn't mean you always have to but good to have the option.

Great Vid again mate !! I've used the ND magnetic butt rests for a few years now both on a pod and sticks,love them . With the pod just peg it down n you'll have no worries !!!!

3 rods mate, put 2 on the pod and use bank sticks for the other 1, you can spread them out more. Also a bungee and a tent peg round the butt end of the pod stops it getting dragged in. Good video by the way.

Cracking video mate. Utilise back leads saves alot of problems fishing 3 rods. Definitely worth the extra money aswell for when you do fish big waters aswell.

Best advice I can give is give up using backleads, they have lost me fish in the past when the lines get picked up. Your better off fishing a semi slack line. 3 rods can cause issues, it depends on each swim but also increases your odds. Tight lines brother

Yeah mate isn’t it crazy how people have different ideas because of their own experiences? I must admit I don’t like the extra weight of the backless bouncing around while playing a fish! Then again I love the idea of having the lines pinned down 🤔

Wicked vlog as always mate to man. Can't go wrong with then nd but rests got them and the bite alarm one's too. I fish 3 rods depending on the situation. On venu. Line pressure already. Very rare I get whiped out by a carp. But them cats can be a nightmare for taking out the other one's. I use back leads and try land them well away from the other rods. tight lines mate.

@@southcoastangler I'm in no position to be giving g tou advice mate is just what I do and what was told to me. The. Forgot them butt rest are a oain when lifting the rods. I old my rod pod down with a tent peg🙈

Hi Aaron, top vid mate. Like most are saying when using 3 rods I put one on banksticks, in fact I only ever use a pod now when the ground doesn't allow for banksticks as banksticks are a quicker set up, take less space and more versatile in my opinion. I've got into cats over the last couple of seasons if you like the fight, catfish can't be beaten absolute tanks. Keep them cameras rolling mate.

Great video, always use 3 rods as it increases the chances...... as you mentioned I usually put 2 on my pod and 1 on banksticks so there's room to play fish..... been wiped out a few times though, all part of the fun

Nice video! I’ve done the same thing last week, a last minute decision to go for a 24hr session and left my stove at home…😅 luckily I always have some snacks and tinned food like bacon grill or some fish in tomato sauce in my fishing food bag so I had food but I really missed my morning coffee. Even if people say you can’t count the bream you can definitely count that cat! Well done!

Great vid as usual! Personally i only use my 3 rod pod were ground is to hard, also lot of venue's only allow 2 rods anyway, i like to have 1 rod either side of peg so can land either in the middle! Do use 3 rods if there is plenty of space in the peg then do use pod for 2 of them! Each to there own i suppose whatever your comfortable with! 😊

Another great vlog Aaron. As for three rods I always put one in the margins ( don’t neglect the margins 😂) I find it works well. I have ND alarms ,indicators head torch which are all awesome but I sold my butt rests on eBay as I hated them. Nearly lost a rod as they do come off on a savage take 😱. The hunt for big red is over he’s in your bivvy 😂😂

I was against using 3 rods, but after doing it last year, I now when I can use 3 rods. generally, my third rod is allways in the margins anyway. I have never put three rods on the same spot yet though.

I dont think 3 rods massivly increases chances. . Ive a 3 rod set up but dont bother with the 3rd. But saying that i understand if your fishing for a certain fish in hard lakes it would increase chsnces.

Hi mate when back leading do you send the back lead down your line or off the end of your rod as I used to send it down the line an had that happen to me till I dropped the back lead just off the tip of the rod an nearly never have that problem any more should give it a try pal might help

Haha no mate last time I checked 100 percent divided by 3 is 33.33333333.. whereas 50 percent times 3 would give you 150 percent? 🤔
