Staying in a campervan has always been on our bucket list, and today we finally experienced the van life for the first time in Portugal.
Our campervan journey started in Faro, Portugal, where we then drove to Lagos. In Lagos, we found a stunning beach called Praia Dona Ana. Exploring this beach we discovered a secret cave that led us to a secret beach, all to ourselves. It felt like the European Maldives, although more affordable.
Just as nightfall came, we quickly visited Ponta Da Piedade, where we took a stunning drone shot of Lagos at night. On the same evening, we had to find a parking space in Carvoeiro where we would be allowed to spend the night with our tiny campervan, and indeed, we found one, although next to the main road... We had a great night of sleep in our tiny campervan. The size of the bed definitely helped, as we were very close and kept warm.
On the next morning we walked to Algar Seco Rocks, a coastal area where you can find a natural pool (as long as the tide is high). We then drove to Benagil, where we visited the Benagil Cave, yes, that famous cave where everyone takes pictures, however, it was very dangerous and we couldn't paddle board towards it, so instead, we saw the cave from the top.
After a couple of hours, we drove to Alcoutim, a village just opposite Spain. We came here as we were going to cross from Spain to Portugal on a zipline. This is the only zipline in the world that crosses countries, although this is in the next video... This was our first time using the kitchen of our tiny campervan, and wow, what an experience, we definitely had a great time washing dishes ahaha
We finally went back to Benagil, where we had the beach to ourselves and we also saw a RAT 😊

Ocean Camper was a 10/10 company for our first time renting a campervan. They don't only provide camper vans, but also a range of equipment, e.g. snorkelling sets, paddle boards, etc, and our favourite part, FREE stuff. Throughout the checking process, they gave us very useful tips and locations to explore in Algarve. We want to give a shoutout to Amanda, at Ocean Camper, for the amazing customer service. We will definitely come back, and maybe an RV next time...👀
