It’s absolutely okay to supplement with formula. You are such a role model. Thank you for sharing your experience. I had a baby boy in February and it has been such a struggle to produce enough for my baby. It gives me comfort to know we are in the same boat.I totally can relate to the hubby meltdown.

My baby will be 6 weeks old on Wednesday and breastfeeding was something I knew I wanted to do as soon as I found out I was pregnant and it is one of the hardest things I’ve done. Mentally you are always worried if your baby is getting enough, and physically so demanding! You are doing amazing mama 💞 any breast milk you can give him is gold!

I had an epic meltdown in the hospital shortly after I had my little man and found out I had to supplement with formula because he was losing too much weight. I've since come to terms with it and remind myself that his health is what's most important. I think supplementing is something a lot of mommas struggle with at first. But you're doing a great job and thank you for sharing your story with us!

Thank you for this video!! It literally brought me to tears. It’s so comforting to see other moms “real talk” when it comes to breastfeeding. It’s so much pressure to exclusively breastfeed that it’s a true mental/emotional journey to go to formula. Although I have a good milk supply, my breastfeeding journey has been tough. I cry daily because I want to switch her to formula but I don’t because I feel guilty if I’m not giving her breastmilk. The breastfeeding experience has been rough because it’s miserable for me but I’m trying to stick through it. I had a total breakdown like yours when my husband was being such a sweetheart and tried to let me get more rest and sleep in and warmed up a frozen bag. I melted down because I’m trying to save the bags for when I go back to work. I was crying because I told him he should have just woken me up. Afterwards, I felt ridiculous and was like I can’t keep going through this. It’s been really tough. My little one is 4 weeks old. I’ve decided after 3 months to put her on formula. It’s the best for my sanity and my marriage lol

Jasmine Wacka literally the exact same situation happened to me- my husband defrosted a bag of milk and I melted down because I had worked so hard to build that stash up to go back to work. Do what’s best for you and your mental health!! Fed is best and no matter what, you are doing a great job mama 💕

You’re doing what you can and making sure your baby is fed! He’s fortunate to have had the breastmilk you could provide and that’s better than nothing!

Can I just start off by saying your are an amazing mommy. Your two little ones are so grateful to have you. My son is actually 5 days older than Ryker😊😊 I envy you so much because I actually couldn't breastfeed my son because I have a condition called mammary hyperplasia and couldn't produce anything at all. I would beat myself up so much that I actually got post partum depression from it. Fed is definitely best no matter how it happens so please dont beat yourself up like I did. Love your videos so much and you inspire me to be the best mom I can be❤❤❤ keep on rockin it girl!

Hi Morgan, I have a 3 and a half year old boy and my baby girl was born on 01/29 so I feel like we are in a similar place... Have you thought about nursing in the evening and at night instead pumping... I think you are producing enough milk considering the extra milk you are putting away from the morning pump. On top of that, breast pumps don’t always empty your breast completely. Babies do a better job than the pumps emptying the breast. Also, you can still increase your supply at this stage since baby boy is only 2 months old. Just an idea but I totally understand different things work for different moms. I never ever leave any comments or feedback on anything. I just wanted to share my experience and support since we are in a very similar situation in terms of having a 3.5 years old and a 2 months old. Love you and love your channel!

Dont be so hard on yourself trying your best is all we can do as mommas! I know that with my first i pumped most of the time but that caused me to loose production i breast fed hom for 10months until it went away completely i fought it as long as i could with my second i only pumped at work or after a feeding to store milk and i was a milk machine i breast fed him until 2 yrs old. Your body knows the difference between the baby and pump and the more you use the pump the harder it is. Wish you the best just wanted to throw that out there hope it all works out

Maybe your supply isn’t low but your pump just isn’t effective enough? When I was breastfeeding I tried an electric and manual pump but it just didn’t work well with me. I could only get 2-3 oz but I knew I still had milk that just wasn’t getting expressed by the pump. Sucks for us who have to work and have no choice but to pump :( I remember being so upset the more formula my son would eat and the more my milk supply would decrease. All because a pump didn’t work well with me.
@brittanyphelps871
@brittanyphelps871 5 жыл бұрын
Pumping doesn’t indicate how much your body supplies, sometimes women don’t respond to a pump the way that they respond to a baby. Your baby could be extracting more then a pump. My baby feeds extremely well at the boob, gets a lot of milk, but when I pump I don’t get much. But either way you’re doing an amazing job, your baby is fed and that’s all that matters!

You’re doing a wonderful job! I understand the struggles. I remember crying when my 1st took formula but I knew it was good for her.. my 2nd was breastfed but did great taking a bottle of breast milk and formula, my 3rd wouldn’t even take a bottle of formula or breast milk, my 4th would rather just straight breastfeed. I’m a stay at home mom but do what’s best for you and baby boy.

I so badly wanted to breastfeed, it's the number one thing I have always wanted to do but my bub had trouble latching and they gave him formula in the hospital. I pumped but slowly dried up at about 6 months and that first day he had to have all formula was so hard on me. It took a while for me to be okay with it so I totally get having a hard time coming to terms with it. Fed is definitely best and you are doing an amazing job xxx new fav KZfaq's by the way. The morning feeds are usually always larger especially if baby is sleeping 5+ hours and if baby is eating frequently throughout the day it’s normal to only produce 2-3 oz especially if it’s on each breast that’s more than enough for baby. My doctor told me that babies eat more from a bottle and even if they’re full after breastfeeding they will still take more from a bottle and suggested me not to do that it causes baby to overeat , my baby is 8 weeks old and said 4 oz is plenty for the baby. If baby is gaining weight you could try to stick with just breastmilk! Also try spreading your pumping 3 hours apart instead of 2 so you could produce more milk. I’m strictly breastfeeding and producing similar to you and baby is over 50% for weight!

I agree though fed is best at the end of the day formula or breastmilk, as long as baby eats !

I am thinking now that I'm not freezing the majority of my morning pump (5 out of 7 ounces) since I was saving up for my first day away from him that I might be able to get back to strictly breastmilk! I also ordered several new supplement products on Amazon to try and review for you guys. Here's to hoping my supply picks up a little closer to 24-32oz/day!
