The 1804 US coin that the casino owner is wanting for his collection is a silver dollar, not the dime pictured. While the US minted silver dollars in 1804 per the mint’s records, they very likely had the date of 1803 due to the dies being reused. It was not until the 1830s did the mint strike silver dollars with a date of 1804 on them. Those were for proof sets to be given out to heads of states in Asia as a means to establish trading relations. The mint made a few restrikes over the next few decades, leading to the 15 known today. Original restrikes made by the US mint for inclusion in the proof sets are easily multi million dollar coins, while later ones are worth a bit less. Beware that there are many counterfeits of this coin. If you see on in a junk box at a flea market, it is likely not real.
