Dear Viewers,
Due to COVID-19 lock down and travel restrictions, we at Buildofy have been unable to travel and shoot new videos. Hence we thought why don't we work out a new format.
We present a new series titled as 'Compact Homes' which will feature houses under 5000 sq.ft
The first in this series is Belaku Residence. This contemporary residence in the urban landscape of Bengaluru is read as an ensemble of geometry with a touch of rustic material palate. The design highlights a cantilevering cubical mass and a seamless connection that the structure has with the surroundings.

Back then, since 2002 , Me and my friends used to walk by this house just to admire this structure 'Belaku' . We just love the lighting concept of this house . It's 2020 ! No wonder this house still remains our favorite landmark ! ♥️

@@Buildofy Most of the viewers are from middle class... who usually live in spaces that are around 700-1500 sqft Carpet areas. So coming from that back ground, a 1500-2500 sqft Carpet area wud be considered a compact house...with a budget of 1-2 crs...with 2 cr stretching it. Anyway, I like what you guys are doing and sharing...

@@Buildofy i understand that there are so many big luxurious houses that you deal with every day. but to connect to a very common man, something like an apartment with 1000-2000 sqft of area would be more connecting. because in places like Mumbai, there are not many independent house buyers. also, in places like Bangalore, a 30x40 is a standard dimension. such things can be called compact homes (though bangaloreans dont think it is a compact dimension) in India. what you just showed here is really well done and classy but out right expensive. also 7000 sqft in built up area doesn't sound compact to most of us. in short, i would say, compact is something that is done in impossible space. such as that 150 sqft Hong Kong studio apartment or 175 sqft Newyork studio.

Can't agree more. I am from b'lore and this is a plush home for kind of land prices prevailing in b'lore city. This is in no definition a compact house. If you build a 2 storeyed bldg in 600-900 sqft would come under a compact section.

@@KZfaqr-lb9ot In Delhi builder house would be that much. About 1.3 cr, that to be one floor. About 1600 sqft carpet size. Heck, buying 2500 sqft land is more than 1.6 cr. And I'm talking about average places here.

@@KZfaqr-lb9ot Would love to know where you live? Most people watching these videos are city dwellers looking for ideas to build in "cramped spaces." I am in Bangalore, and a 2400 sq ft plot in a decent residential area costs upwards of 2cr. So yes that's a luxury.

Since a long time i have been waiting for a house video of this plot dimension that too this turned out to be from my town Bangalore. 2400sqft plot is a sweet spot for Indians, with 3 stories one can make a mansion on this

4000/ sq feet for construction including toilet fixtures, structure, painting. Excludes; site cost, furniture and appliances.

Just that we lay a lot of focus on the ‘why’ and ‘how’ of a building rather than only showing ‘what’ the building is. wow, this is seriously incredible. I live in a house with area of 1800 sqft. that means this project is 600sqft bigger, yet this looks so big atleast 3500 sqft. Great Job.

I have seen water bodies being included in quite a few homes. Is there any major maintanance involved. Also, do they serve any practical purpose like helping maintain temperature in some way ?

I want to avoid it as it will increase humidity for the home. Humity make you feel stressed & sweaty. So large aquariums or indoor fountains/ swimming pools I would not prefer for my future home. Which I intend to start in some 2 or 3 years.

@@sagarreddygovindu1680 That's nice of you Sagar , yes many don't believe what I say. But its cos of lack of common sense in majority of people. Sit in a high humidity & low humidity (45%) room with 26celcius. You will see a huge difference. That is what an AC does. It removes humidity from the room. I have a relative with a large indoor pool/ fountain. No peace nothing. Just maintenance nightmare & he is one divorce down. So much for Vastu.

The need of the hour is low cost, sustainable houses and not the expensive ones. Our houses should be more closer to the nature rather than exploiting the nature for its materials. Our house should not need ac, fan in summer and not need heater in winter. Rain water harvesting is the need of hour not the expensive posh bungalows.

The cost is given as 6000/- per sqft. What does it mean? Does it include construction cost as well? Can you please let me know how much it would cost to build provided I have the land?

Yes. The 6000rs per sqft is the construction cost. It doesn't include land cost. For the approx cost of your land, contact the builders directly since every project is different

It will cost around 4 Crores 6000Rs per sqft and assuming 6500sqft built up area 6000*6500=3.9Cr

@@venkateshiyengar Trust me such interiors can easily cost 1.5 to 2Crores sir. 1. A posh living room sofa itself costs 5 to 10 lakhs 2. Home theater room for such houses costs 20 to 30 lakhs (including seating,screen,sound system,acoustics) Now just imagine the cost for the remaining

Beautiful design nice house I have purchased 28 cents of land you can call it hill top its situated on the mountain. My own design was having garage car parking at ground floor then the same 1st floor & 2nd floor duplex for me.
