What can you do in 24 hours in Athens, focusing on Armenian places? During a layover, I had 24 hours to spend on a Sunday in the Greek capital, and I decided to visit a few places, including the neighborhood of Nikeia (also known as Kokkinia), where you can see 3 Armenian churches and an Armenian school, as well as Nea Smyrni and its 2 Armenian memorials. There are also other churches, and monuments to visit in "Armenian Athens" but that will be for next time! Thank you Pastor Cholakian for the explanations about digitalization of Armenian archives, and thank you Nara for the excellent lahmajouns at Noe in Nea Smyrni!

My grandfather was 3 years old when he’s whole family was killed with axe in 1915 by the ottomans. He was saved by a Greek neighbor and sent to Greek orphanage. That’s how I’m hear because of Greek people. All my uncles parents were born in Greece 🇬🇷 ❤and I was born in Armenia 🇦🇲 and leave in USA 🇺🇸 since 3 years old. I love you Greek people ❤🙏

I am Armenian and i was born in Greece in the neighborhood of NIkaia but I am now living in Lyon (another huge city where many armenians live). By watching your video and especially the scene at 2:19 I saw my childhood flashing infront of my eyes, I used to take that bus to go to school everyday and I have so many great memories of that place, I know every corner of it and I feel so nostalgic watching this right now. Thank you for this video and for bringing me back to this place through it.

In 9:07the bell tower is a replica of ag. Fotini cathedral church in Smyrna, which was burned in 1922.

Armenians are our brothers and they are always welcome in Greece. I hope Greece was more able to help, but we are a small country with limited resources. Never mind, I hope that just the knowledge that any Armenian can find a home in Greece should be a great help.

But it’s not as if Armenians were not living there before World War 1. Armenians and Greeks have been siblings for their entire existence. There is much less separation than what is implied by the information about arrivals, etc.

Armenian neighborhoods are historically called "Little Armenia" in many languages (but not "Little Armenia-n-s")

I'm watching with a translator, it's very interesting! I am a Khamshen Armenian from the Black Sea coast of Russia and a quarter of a Pontian Greek by my mother. My mother's sister is also married to a Pontic Greek, there is a large Armenian diaspora here and Greeks also live all along the coast and throughout the South of Russia! All the goodness and mercy of God and the Most Holy Theotokos!🙏
