I think unfortunately by 2045, the population in London will have a much lower ancestral connection to the British population of the 1940s. And by 2045, of those who do have an ancestral link to 1940s British population, even those who are in their 80s would have been born in 1960s . I imagine there will be events to mark the 100th anniversary, but more common in countryside towns. I think it's unlikely there would be big parties in central Birmingham or other similar cities. The way we look at the war and are taught about it will also have probably changed. Even comparing back to 1995 the narrative has gradually changed. Where now some politicians increasingly claim the war was fought as a way to free and empower the global south. Rather than to liberate the democracies of Western Europe and the occupied states of Central Europe.
