No way a human could take a Komodo dragon. They’re gigantic, have sharp claws, have a poisonous bite that can be lethal within hours, and their body is covered in armored scales that is essentially chain mail.

Size and Strength: Adult Komodo dragons can weigh over 150 pounds and reach lengths of up to 10 feet. They are extremely strong, with powerful muscles especially in their jaws and legs. Speed: Despite their size, Komodo dragons can move very quickly over short distances, capable of sudden bursts of speed. Bite and Venom: Their bites are very dangerous, not only because of the sharp teeth and strong jaws but also due to the venom they inject. This venom can cause shock, blood loss, and severe tissue damage. Durability: They have tough, scaly skin that provides a degree of protection against physical attacks. Attempting to fight a Komodo dragon would be not only reckless but also likely to result in serious injury or death. In encounters with these creatures, it's best to maintain a safe distance and avoid any interaction.

Big lizard, strong teeth, strong legs. It run fast, bite hard. Bite has poison, makes big sick, much pain. Skin hard like rock, not easy hurt. You try fight, you get hurt bad or no wake up. Better run, stay far. No fight big lizard. Stay alive.

Guys, in case you didnt know there is a LOTR equivalent in the asian fantasy genre - also known as Wuxia and that is Legend of the Condor Heroes by Jin Yong. A gold standard and highly recommend read at least for the culture

1:20:41 I would also add, when I advise students on what degree they should choose, I tell them to look at three things: (1) What are you good at, (2) What do you like?, (3) Is there a market for it? I would say, having two of these three things will place you in a good position. For example if you are good at something and theirs a market for it, you will find some level of success. If you have 1 or less of these checked off, it is a sign to go to a career counselor.

I believe liking (not necessarily loving) is a prerequisite, you don’t want to work a job you dislike for 40+ years. There are almost always jobs where these 3 circles connect

Non fiction recommendation I think you guys would like: The Tiger by John Valliant. It’s a true story of a man eating Siberian tiger in 90’s Eastern Russia who is hunting and killing villagers. A villager then sets out to track down the tiger and kill it. It’s a wild ride

If I had an opportunity to redesign the human body, I would change the human eye so the irises would be completely circular instead of hexagonal. The lungs would be made much larger. They would turn upside down to make way for more oxygen. More oxygen means more neuron activity and thus more brain activity. The spinal column would be made stronger. The brain would be a bit larger. A bone would be added to the middle of the nose, so peoples´nasal features would resemble those of Death on Death conquers the Battlefield. The human nose would become more symmetrical and stronger as a result of the change. No need for two thumbs. Man is already Earth´s apex animal - but in fact an omnivore. Another reason for why I would change the eyes is so it would be easier to paint them while painting portraits. The eyes would be able to perceive light at more wavelengths. Unfortunately for some this would result in multiple cases of pov.

Do you ever read a book, and think: Wow, that was way too happy. There's pain, suffering, and trauma there, but it could be sadder. Do you like reading about lonely, depressed six year olds? Are you okay with puppies dying? Most importantly: Do you like your escapism to be sadder than your actual life? Then I have the book series for you! Robin Hobb is both my favorite author and the author that has hurt me (and her characters) the most. In all seriousness, RoTE is really good on so many levels. The characters (in my opinion) are some of the best in the genre. The writing is wonderful. The pacing is fine, though quite slow. The world is interesting. And it hits you in the feels every single time. Though now that I think about it, reading RoTE might be a bad thing. All other books will feel worse in comparison. Anyway, it's great to see you at 25k, fingers crossed you get to RoTE by a million! : )

HAHAHAHA, RICHARD AND I BOTH HATE JD SALINGER! I hate Catcher in the Rye. I was just about to ask your thoughts on Catcher in the Rye- JD Salinger is just stupidly pessimistic in my opinion. I personally really dislike how he writes and how he just seems to have no kindness in his stories. And I don’t mind pessimism but still. Also, YOU GOT TO READ BRAVE NEW WORLD IN SCHOOL?!
