folk art can and often does represent personal or individual feelings, it just depends on the culture. A lot of American folk art is a great example, American Folk music for instance. Folk Art IS meant to be cultural and represent the feelings of a large group, but it's only in certain countries that this is juxtaposed with the concept of individuality. A lot of countries don't draw a line between individualism and collectivism as "opposing" forces, because everyone is both an individual and a part of a collective. Hope that helps everyone with their international art studies.

As much as I like the list and the examples, I have a few things I would like point out: 1. I don't think fantasy is classifiable as a style, isn't it more of a a genre/topic just like sci-fi, nature, religion, etc. i.e. you can make fantasy art in any style but that art will not be fantasy style art but rather art about fantasy. I mean, it's not like art about flowers is called "flower style" art, or art about animals "animal style" art (though I imagine if you would make art using only flowers then that might be "flower-style" art). 2. the term figurative, along with representational and abstract, is actually a category of art that states what is being presented in the work of art, and as such is not an art style by itself. You can create art of any category in any style you choose. for example abstract line art or figurative renaissance paintings. 3. Graffiti is also not a style, but more of a method of creating art (the same way painting, sculpting, and computers are methods of creating art). Most graffiti art I've seen is usually done in pop, modern, cubistic, or minimalistic styles. 4. I personally feel that just brushing away modern (contemporary) art styles with the "contemporary art" umbrella is not good. I mean, for example, anime/manga art and pixel art are unique enough in my opinion to warrant being their own styles altogether, at least a mention if nothing else. Just like cartoon art and 3d art (and I don't mean only 2d renders of 3d models, but for example voxel art or low-poly art, which is a derivative of cubism, if I'm not mistaken). And I think all of them definitely deserve their own mention when talking about styles, especially to a modern audience.

As a life long graffiti artist I was so glad to hear you say graffiti in the video we don't get much respect in the art world even tho most if not all of us are trained on the streets and in train years in the heat of summer and cold of winter we risk pur life's and put our self at risk of arrest or bodily harm just to do our art form

Seems like we are missing a few, how about some distinctions in different styles of sci-fi or fantasy art? I mean this list is good as an overview of art in general, but not very helpful for the purpose of this group (video game, animation, and character design). Basically if I wanted some concept art for a sci-fi space battle featuring a beautiful protagonist none of the styles you mentioned really fit the bill.

Useless information for our field :S the topic needs a more practical aproach more if you are trying to use AI to generate concepts of characters, vehicules and assets, if you use any of the art styles you mentioned in a prompt will give a you a useless image, at this point in time a video showcasing modern digital artists that can be use in a promt can be more useful, information about checkpoints or LORAs that can help in character concept or a good LORA for vehicules or props, I am not sure which method is better if using normals on the surface of a 3d model for NPR rendering or simply go with something like LOL ARCANE with hand painted textures, but if you can find a way to generate good looking NPR textures with Ai that could be a good time saver.
