In general, food that is spicy make stomach release more digestive enzymes or gastric juices in comparison to sweet food. As spicy food is a mixture of many which are intense & hot in nature ignite intensive digestive fire at the start of meal and when finished with sweets, the stomach gets relaxed. You can observe this when you eat spicy & sweets..Spicy foods make us feel hot & more acidic in stomach whereas we feel a bit relaxed & satiated after eating sweets..

Such a disparaging attitude you both have, it is very easy to find data for these facts on internet and Ayurvedic scriptures but only if you willing to find it, he is just giving you info go verify for your self. May be many Indians won't be resonating with me today but they will after a decade and Acharya Chanakya very truly said Foreigners can never understand Bharat.
