In the 60’s we sold 16 oz mugs of beer for $0.50. The owner wanted more profit so Budweiser sold us 12 ounce mugs that looked exactly like the big ones. This increased his profit by 25%. This bar was an absolute gold mine.

I remember when I first noticed one of my favorite grocery items shrinking. It was either the very late 90s or early 2000s that I noticed my Breyers Butter Pecan ice cream container had gotten smaller. The price was the same but there was definitely less ice cream. Now the price goes up AND the package shrinks.

That's why I've always invested in the stock market. Corporations never lose. Inflation be damed. They always win.

@@leinster22 I never buy new clothes, both for the environment and to save money, I shop sales and I would grow my own stuff but I’ve wasted so much money on that in the past. I don’t have a green thumb. I manage to kill everything.

I gave up on grocery stores. I grow all our vegetables and seeds. I buy grains, dried beans, coffee, sweeteners in bulk, and im able to grow all the berries and melons we need. Fruit trees and vines in the ground but need years before i see more than a small amount. Meat, dairy and eggs from the farmers market. Some online shopping for stuff like cleansing products. Easy? No. But its actually kinda fun and educational. Been doing it this way for about 4 years. Lost a lot of weight as a family about 100lbs combined, 4 of us. Everything from scratch. Doesnt take that long once you get used to it. My grocery bill has been more or less the same for years.

Am I the only one that finds the shrinkflation extremely irritating? I mean....I have to rely on food stamps to feed myself and because of that I keep a careful budget for a month of groceries. Less food in a package throws off my budget calculations and makes it harder for me to keep food in my home

Its not just food, golf club sets have fewer clubs, clothing fabric is thinner, i'm sure they'll keep the skinny fit jeans style going as long as they can as they'll be using less denim. Also bad for the environment as they don't fill containers of washing liquid, so you're consuming more plastic.

Pretty much all companies are a holes. On the brighter side Costco, despite their investors encouraging them to raise prices beyond cost, held to their principles. I believe they mark up the costs by something like 6%.

Yes, we noticed the scam. The question is, what are we going to do about it? On another note, that narrator's voice is extremely annoying. Why wouldn't you choose someone with a pleasant voice instead? I couldn't finish the video because of her! 😡
