Chef's Table Pakistan- Pakistan may be most famous for it's street food, but today I wanted to show you another side of Pakistan. Karachi is full of fancy restaurants, but I was really looking for somewhere doing something with Pakistan cuisine. Chef's Table was that place. A chef/owner that wants to prove that Pakistani food can be more than Desi style. I think while this place still has some places that it can improve, I really enjoyed myself and I think it's heading in the right direction and I hope it gives inspiration to future chefs.

$25 per person is incredibly cheap for us Westerners here in the US, but in Pakistan, it's expensive, and priced about right in comparison if the Restaurant was here in the US. For example, the avg weekly salary in Pakistan is about $100 USD, so this meal is about 1/4th of that. Hence, assuming a weekly salary of $1K here in the US, then that would make this equivalent to a $250 meal ($500 for 2) which is right about inline with high end restaurants here.

Tbf it's common in other countries to have fine dining prices set to western levels anyway, like in Dubai the average salary is much lower but a fine dining restaurant - take one of the same chain or chef even and compare the branches - will cost as much as the equivalent in the US or Europe. Similar around the world. I'm guessing in this case it's a location disadvantage, the area seems still under development so maybe when a few hotels and other restaurants open up nearby they can up it.

The thing with Pak/Ind food is that you can't really tweak it much to make it an exclusive fine dining thing. Biryani is going to be biryani no matter if it's a roadside stall or five star restaurant. So presentation really is the key but even this restaurant did a good job with the pakodas, dessert and the gelato. It was unique and nicely presented. Another great video. Loved it. ♥️

it can not go sky rocket high obv it contains no caviars or alcohol or truffles. but it can surely cover 100/plate to 3000/plate depending on which meat is used and who is cooking!! the simple thing is, our food is cheap because we don't have people with very high buying power. not because it is SIMPLE

@@mepu_146 well exactly what I said. Ofc if you're using a fine meat like a wagyu it would cost a fortune. Using original high quality saffron is another way to raise the bar. Ofc then only few handful people could afford it.

I like this place A LOT! ❤ Decor was really tasteful and IMO this is the way to serve fine dining Indo-Pak food. All the dishes were authentic as opposed to many Indian fine dining places in London that end up being European dishes with some added spice or Indian sides/chutneys.

I've always looked at fine dining and thought - i'd never do that because even after 10 courses, i'd likely be hungry. Having watched this video though, i think it's probably more about an eating experience than having a nice big meal.

I love that both of you have great knowledge of the Pakistani cuisine and the meanings of the dishes and ingredients. As an Indian, I hate when white people review indian food and they put no effort in learning anything about the food and keep saying things like "Naan Bread" or "Chai Tea".

Someone once said to me that Pakistani food can never be fine dining- he said how can you make food that are essentially village food on char payee be french level fine dining- i am so happy that someone had the courage to start going in that that direction- of course since its a start there is a huge area to be improved at - i hope to try this restaurant out on my next trip to Karachi Inshallah. $25 per person is a awesome deal, you can’t beat that. In US certainly it would cost $150. Another South African vollager Kurt Caz went to the same restaurants few months back. Who wants to eat of a laundry line, not me.

That food looked good. He said do you want Pakistani hot...so you knew it would be hot! 🔥 For $25 that's a crazy cheap price. Saw the water coming and Chris drank it, saw it was bottled later that's good for Chris..only bottled water. How can you not like mint ice cream..lol branch out Max. Wow. I have had my experiences of Fine and Street Food in Pakistan many times. But this one is so unique for Fine Dining any where in the world frankly. I never had such high level of fine dining experience in USA and during my international travels. Great Job you two. Thanks for sharing

I will love this sort of experience... Would have preferred drink too, like Mango lassi, mint lemonade, non alcoholic mojitos, pina colada etc. They should incorporate drinks.. I agree. Good observation and suggestion..

Not sure why, but when I went to Pakistan I enjoyed it much better than India (except for Goa). No matter what people think how bad Pakistan should be. The people in Pakistan are more gracious and their hospitality is just amazing. And I don't even want to start comparing Islamabad to New Delhi... To be fair, India is great too but the poverty and chaos there just punch right into my face whenever I'm in the country, no matter how "developed" they seem to have become in the recent years.

I love fine dine. ❤️❤️ It's a little expensive but the restaurant really take good care of their customer. The quality of very ingredients are very premium. 🌹🌹🌻🌻Then after spend three hrs in the restaurant and a lot of money.
