dude i will be utmost honest with you and let me tell you honestly i knew all these facts before but there are few rectifications which i have shared below: 1. Sachin Tendulkar scored 673 runs not 674 in 2003 cwc. 2. Australia won 1st wc in 1987 but from 1999-2007 they were winners back2back where Steve Waugh was captain in 1999 Edition and like you mentioned ponting was captain in the 03 and 07 editions. 3. Australia won 34 games consecutively from 1999-2011 as the streak started with a defeat against NZ @Cardiff in 1999 edition and ended in 2011 against pak at R. Premadasa Stadium Colombo which was also their final league stage match in 2011 wc. 4. Kumar Sangarkkara scored 4 centuries b2b in the 2015 edition of wc

Graham Gooch was the first player to be awarded Man-of-the-Match thrice in a row during a single WC. He achieved this feat in the 1987 edition. Rahul Dravid is the only player to be the highest run scorer of a particular edition despite his team not reaching the semis. He achieved this feat in the 1999 edition. 1987 was the first occasion the eventual champions did not win any of its matches batting second. All of Australia's 7 wins came batting first while its only loss was against India in the group stages after being set to chase 289. Martin Crowe and Lance Klusener are the only players as of 2023 to be awarded Man-of-the-Tournament despite their teams not featuring in the finals, ever since the introduction of the honour 1992 onwards. In all other editions, the recipients were either from the winning teams or runners up. Indian captain Kapil Dev remains the only player to feature in an edition's top-5 run scorers, wicket takers and catch grabbers.
