This video features Bally's GOLD BALL Pinball Machine! This game has a very unique feature---randomly, a "GOLD BALL" is released onto the playfield instead of the regular silver ball! Look at the extensive rules as Todd explains all...and watch the neat GOLDBALL feature happen right before your eyes!
Ever wonder what all those flashing lights are doing on a pinball machine? This special series entitled UNDERSTANDING PINBALL will show YOU what that machine is doing! Todd N. Tuckey, owner of TNT Amusements in Southampton PA, filmed this series back in 1989--actually editing it right in the camera on Hi band 8mm. It took several hours for each machine, but we think you will enjoy the results! That's great news! New parts are so hard to find...and when this video was made in 1989, there was NO WAY anyone would get involved making gold pinballs for it or other games!

On the alternative romset for this game, available with field service upgrade kit, spelling GOLDBALL will give you gold ball after draining current ball in play, if the Gold Ball percentage dip switches(14, 15, 16) are set to OFF.

A tavern had this game back some years ago, and I mostly got the "Goldball" Play when I recieved an extra ball (when the ball drains) and I do remember getting 3 free games when I spelled "Goldball" during the "Goldball Special"

I just got this game a couple weeks ago and the electrical/wiring issues with it have been repaired and it's fantastic. It's like an EM game but without all the hellish parts under the hood. I just wish mine still had the original pop bumpers and center target and they don't look easy to find. I love this table due to the layout as it's simple, yet not, a good learning table for any age or skill level.

It's interesting that the "gold ball" concept was actually originally developed over 35 years earlier, in Chicago Coin's "Goldball". In that version, the gold ball scored double.

What's with this background music? It seems to imply urgency that isn't actually there, especially when it goes boom and you're like WHOA - wait, what happened? These videos are awesome to watch.

The main music theme on this machine is from Bally's "Viking".Other than that,not a bad game.

I judt bought me one goldball machine. I play it everyday for hours. But the tilt swing doesnt work... any ideas? Greetings and thx for your video boss

No t is not...its unique for this game and Grand Slam...only two games to use it!

How dose the machine know the difference between the gold ball and the silver ball? Well duh. I just answered my own question. It's the programming.. Never mind.
