That guy was just all full of BS. "I don't use brakes", RIGHT! I would pull that top end and check it. There is NO WAY that engine was rebuilt.

One thing to look for when Banshees won't cold start is that the float bowl is on the correct carburetor. The bowl with the jet in the bottom must go on the carb with the choke, otherwise the choke will not function. People tend to switch them up during a routine carb clean and never notice it.

I used to do the same thing when I was younger, and had a lot of fun doing it. Road trips for quads, bikes etc, fix em up and sell the ones I didn't get attached to. Great hobby, great videos. I watch them with my young sons, little do they know they have two lt50s that need a little work coming their way Christmas morning!

If you're flipping machines don't forget to account for your time spent searching classifieds, driving to and from a purchase, licensing, fuel/lube, insurance. PRO TIP: When looking at used machines, prior to personally starting said machine, place your hand on the engine to check to see if it had already been running.

You 100% can just bypass the TORS (Throttle Over Ride System) with no issues at all. Also, you were correct in where the VIN should have been.

You really should be doing leak down test on the older 2 strokes. Could have 150psi in both cylinders for a hot minute if you’ve got an air leak. That was a score of the year. Respect the machine

Pro Tip: If a guy states that top and bottom have been rebuilt, check for those green gaskets. Quick way to tell if the case has been split.

You don't sandblast off a clean VIN number - about 99% chance there's a shady past somewhere in that Banshee's history.

Pull front plastics, should be a vin tag in there. I think you should find it and run it through NCIC. If we suspect that we do every time. Had 2 last year that we recovered for a guy. Were stolen out of his driveway trailer and all. We got both quads and he left the trailer, so clean sweep. He came out to my shop to verify it was them and started crying. Felt good to help, and we repaired them both.

That chain has a few hours on it. Spotted a couple locked links. I'd check to see if the sprockets were replaced and the old chain kept. When the friction areas between the pins and bushing wear and make the chain appear to have stretched, which it doesn't do, using it on new sprockets will quickly wear them out. Still watching and think someone's gonna have a blast with it when you're finished with it.

VIN straight got removed. Yamaha VINs are on that lower left frame rail. Safe to say then, it was stolen at one point. Who else grinds a vin off for any other purpose

It is a factory replacement frame that's why there is no vin. Those are original 1995 plastics and I know the top end was done recently, but not sure about the bottom. I've owned that quad before

Brakes don't bleed them self you will find out when they airlock when your throttle is pinned I learned the hard way by letting someone other them me touch my stuff fronts locked up and there was no releaseing them without tools was 8 miles from the nearest tools ended up cutting the brake line be smart and get all the air out just like your doing with the back

Back in the day, we used to put screws in the knobs of the tires for traction. We used to cut the screws shorter than the knobs (obviously) . The hex screws made the best traction. Great videos, bro.

They make an adapter for the airbox so you can mount the filter without having to use the lid. Get the throttle thors override kit. And a vacuum gauge so you can sync the carbs.

Working on it rebuilding these off roads vehicles is a good amount of work because you can do 90 percent of it and the last 10 percent is the hardest to finish up so to all the little odds and ends.

Check underneath the plastic where the handle bars go into it at for the front end steering like on dirt bikes.& Bicycles to. Honda stamps their vin numbers in that area a lot to. As long as it's on the frame.& It's clear vin you can titled it as well.

Time to try out the snow mobiles. I told you where you could buy some cogs for the Ski Daddler in that video I looked them up and they sell them. ! Never fear Ski Doo Sprockets out of Dennis Kirk...Work great on my Daddlers

Also, don't be fooled into thinking that new oil means new rebuild. Shady folks have been known to replace oil prior to a sale to hide metal in the old oil.

start bike rev bike to moon for 10 mins in first. shut bike off. start bike check temp off pipe then begin to run in bike.

Once again Joe gets a killer deal. But I would tear down the engine and check it out, because on the first start up it didn't sound right. Now I will continue on the video. But The Deals Joe gets is Incredible. Oh maybe it didn't sound right because of the 2 into 1 header pipe.

That dyno port pipe was most likely built by a guy name rich Daley out of newyork about 2 hours from me he owns dyno port pipes and builds some crazy things he does snowmobile pipes as well builds some nasty mechines.

I have leak-down kits on sale on eBay for two more days, Guys. You should always leak down your two strokes as preventative maintenance, or when it stops running correctly.

On the 1995 through 1998 the vin numbers are on two places on those where you looked at already.& Where the handle bars go in at to. Like on Honda trail 70& up dirt bikes have on them.

Little tip, i know the brakes dont work on this one, but when you are unloading a quad,,if you stand on the right hand side you can control the front brake and end reach the rear brake with your hand if needed

This banshee looks shady to me those are def not the shock color for 1995…yellow is the right color shocks…those pinkish color is from 92-93 yr….and how does this shee only have one exhaust cause they come 2 ?? The vin # I believe is more towards the left going towards the A-arms

You should bleed the brakes by opening the bleeder screws one at a time. Start with the furthest calliper from the master cylinder and do not let the reservoir run dry while bleeding. Run a long hose into a container and pump until no bubbles are seen.

The Dyno Port 2 exhaust makes a Banshee run excessively lean... Best Pipes are the toomey t4's which can be tuned much richer

The brakes would bleed out way better if you only pump them with the bleeders closed and hold when opening the bleeders, close bleeder pump up slow again repeat

Vin should be on left side in front of foot peg on the bottom rail.

I like to pick back up and check play in axle. Shake those front wheels for play along with a arms. Im a big bearing checker when buying. Check air filter tells how it was or is maintained. I bought a Raptor 660 project- did a 686 big bore all mechanical is new. Soon be plastics and powder coat frame etc. Prices are up along with parts so my 6 projects are on hold.
