i find the studies to be quite hard yet i can play no.2 very good, so i started learning this and its moderately harder

Thank you. Am also looking at this etude again, this time with less attention (and blind faith!) to the right hand fingering suggested in the standard score, and exploring my own, to limit the hand moving up and down the fingerboard SO MUCH! Am already feeling much more gratified, and Carcassi's intention of these stydies being melodious and progressive being heeded as well. Am optng for "guitar logic" rather than the sometimes half-hearted and sometimes incomplete right hand fingering suggestions given in reputable guitar publications.

I liberated myself from the traditional ( and largely uncontested ) fingering canonized by an unknown editor (certainly NOT Carcassi) and play this etude with a much less movable left hand jumping all around the fingerboard, with lovely open string notes in between to add colour nuances.
