Best team goal of all time. When you watched Germany 2014 or Spain 2010, most of the players played at the same team, Bayern and Barca respectively but this Argentina team had a players scattered in various clubs, which makes this team goal even more impressive. Its a big missed opportunity when their manager took out Riquelme and Crespo early against Germany yet didnt even field Lionel Messi or Saviola in that QF.

Aimar was also on the bench . Pekerman is known for being a choker at senior level. I dont know why he fielded Cruz instead even though he rarely play for the national team.

This Argentina deserved WC 2006 and Copa America 2007. They played very nice, one touch football. Riquelme was the leader by picking up the ball from the defenders their feet and builded up as an architect a beautifull style of football.

@@ciudadanouniversal5483 Brazil at World Cups play mostly horrible, military-like football since the 1990s. With lots of hard tackling defensive midfielders and no proper no. 10 anymore. Argentina went through too many managerial changes after Pekerman left, thus they did not have a clearly defined style of play. And as mentioned by others, before 2022 they tended to rely too much on Messi's individual skills.
