Hi Everyone, you asked me to show how I resin jar lids, so here is that tutorial. Longer than usual, but necessary to show the entire process.
In this video I cover:
1. Taping off the jar lid, inside and out.
2. The actual bloom paint pour. Waiting at least 7 dry days to dry, preferably 10 full dry days.
3 The resin process from start to finish- always use a Respirator!
4. The finish up including tricks for a clean tape removal and edge.
I hope you watch the entire video for the start to finish explanation of how I make jar lids.
For this round I created 6 total, all different, upon request and the new owner loved them so much, she asked for 6 more. These lucky jar lids get to live out their usefulness in Hawaii! I’ll show all 6 by the end.
Thank you all subscribers, new and the frequent fliers. Please make sure to hit the bell and ‘all’, and a 👍🏼 too, every subscription helps and it's free. I present succinct videos showing my latest, what I've learned, provide tips, often with some philosophy. I usually share about three per week and trying different things along the way... as those who've been with me well know! Coasters, canvas, trays, Clocks, check out the playlists!
All my creations are for sale, so if anything catches your eye or if you're interested in a custom piece, reach out to me: louisemckay333@gmail.com

You're so meticulous and I love that you share that. It's such a great reminder for all of us how important that is. How long do you let the blooms cure on glass, metal, etc. before coating with resin or polycrylic?
@LouiseMcKayArt
@LouiseMcKayArt 8 ай бұрын
Thank you Vegas ❤️💙and my philosophy is, if I’m going to be sharing a video I should share information at the same time, because you’re spending your time watching me you should be given some insight along the way. These are metal lids, and if it’s warm and dry, I wait seven days, if it’s humid, I wait at least 10 days before resining. I always resin the kids for blind and durability .

As always, ma’am, your creations are superb most beautiful! You mentioned that you would answer questions so I have one question for you. Please actually have a whole bunch, but I’ll break it down to just one today. You noticed that the PPG formula was giving you extra bubbles at one point, I’m also finding that with the batch I bought. You also mentioned that if you placed it on the heater it would help dissipate the bubbles. That sounds pretty straightforward, but I’m wondering if you could elaborate what type of heater and how long? Once again, thank you 1 million !! Thank you for your service your country ma’am
@LouiseMcKayArt
@LouiseMcKayArt 25 күн бұрын
@@andiortega4164 hi AndI thank you for being here. I’ve said early on when I had problems with bubbles and multipro I would put them on the dryer, the electric dryer were the vibration would help shake them and the air bubbles out. I’ve since started using a vacuum chamber where I put my batch in there and let the vacuum pump, pump out the air. Please don’t confuse how I try to get rid of bubbles to how I tried to thin down my paints in the winter time with the heater. If you’re curious about the vacuum pump and vacuum chamber, just go to one of my recent videos and I have the Amazon description you can copy and paste onto Amazon site
