You have every right to be proud of the way it turned out. I worked for a small boat company just out of high school, and one thing I learned was over saturated fiberglass will crack or break a lot easier. Can’t wait to see what happens next. It’s looking great. Thank you

Appreciate it. There is a whole lot of nothing exciting coming up. Lots of dust making is all I know. But that’s all getting closer to putting some paint on this pig.

Appreciate it. Unfortunately work has picked up and I haven’t been able to do anything for almost 3 weeks. But I will keep up the process and the vids. As poor as they may be, I’m committed to document the whole thing.

your boat is turning out really well. You must be psyched! I’m looking forward to seeing the paint go on. It’s gonna look SO good! 👍☮️ thanks for sharing

It certainly has its moments of anticipation. As much as I have done there still seems like so much to do, but I hope the figuring out part is waning. The execution side is the less stressful part for me. Once I know what to do the work is the easy part.

The build looks great, just binged watched the entire series. I like that you try to show and explain what you are doing at each step. I wouldn’t worry too much about that flap, just extra strength in case you hit something under the water.

Thanks for the interest. I try and answer the questions I have when watching others, and I am trying to document the best I can. It takes time to do it, but ironically it's the thing I get the Mose feedback about. It's like I try and say often, I may not be doing it the right way or the best way, but I try and explain what I am doing and why I am doing it the way I am. Stick around, and let me hear from you again. Next time catch them each week. The more feedback the better.

@@Bigeaux20 I have subscribed, and am eagerly waiting for the next episode. I have watched a number of other channels building boats. Yours is one of the better channels, in my opinion, due to you admitting you make mistakes, and trying to explain what you did wrong and how to fix it.

I try and explain as much as I can. But I have to get better at communicating clearly and not being against the clock and hurrying to explain something. There is so much that happens I want to talk about, but I am trying to keep the vids a little shorter as well. Hence more vids in total. Really appreciate the feedback.

Nice Job Oscar…. You need to get yourself a metal fin roller to help get the fiberglass saturated.. works great!
@Bigeaux20
@Bigeaux20 Жыл бұрын
I have a few fin rollers and I use them sporadically. I probably need to use them more often, but to be honest, I haven't gotten them all figured out. I've come all the way back around to using stiffer foam rollers most of the time now. Appreciate the tip though!

Very nice video I am from India Himachal Pradesh

Thanks again. Himachai Pradesh, huh? Thats a long way from Louisiana. Looks like the Beas River would be the only water to take a boat. Are there other places to boat or fish there?

Didn’t bring the bottom mat far enough over the chine too double up
@Bigeaux20
@Bigeaux20 7 ай бұрын
I appreciate your insight, but I followed the designers specs and went a little beyond. Specs called for basic overlap at the chine and this was done as a hot coat. Where do you think that falls short? Love to hear what you think.

May I ask how much Epoxy you used up just for the entire hull as single a complete single layer? Thank You

As a general guide I use “about” 3 oz per square foot of 1808 biaxial and 2 oz for 1208 bi. That’s for pre coating the wood and wetting out the glass. Hope that helps.
