When I taught school in a hot climate, students were ALWAYS in distress about their broken flip-flops. The bread tabs were truly a miracle cure for that. I'd cover the tab with a little patch of duct tape so they would not catch on the carpets. I also issued one to each student when the school first got Chromebooks. I printed a bunch of tiny labels that said "Chromebook Charger" and glued them on to the tabs. That way, the charger did not got lost among all of their families' electrical cables. Students were given a Sharpie on that day to initial the tabs in they had siblings who were also getting computers issued to them. If a student left their charger in my classroom, I could get it back to them using the initials as well.

A guy in New Zealand redesigned flip flops to have that shape on the bottom of the thong. He got a patent for it about a year or two ago, and they're just becoming available in the us. Expensive. They're called Golden and his channel is "how to Dad". I once had to fix a flip-flop for a student when we want to an archaeological site, and she wore them even though they were told to wear sturdy shoes. For the moment, all I had was a bobby pin until she could get to the euro store and buy another pair

I like the idea of writing on them & using to mark electrical cords. Especially behind the TV w/ PlayStation, stereo, VCR, ( yes I said VCR 😂) lava lamp, etc. I can’t tell you how many times have I pulled out the wrong cord… and someone else said to mark what crochet size hook was used on WIP. I have WIPs I put down and can’t remember what size hook I used. I have 1 glove that fits perfect and one that can fit a child - lol. And a slipper that I don’t want to make same mistake on. You always think you will remember but you don’t unless it’s from an actual pattern. She opened up my eyes to the many uses.Thank you lady!

Knitters love bread tags. When you cast on stitches, there’s always a tail. To avoid accidentally knitting with the tail, wrap the tail around a bread tie, and knit on with the ball of yarn.

Danielle collecting and recycling bread tabs is a great idea because they are so lightweight you can save then up and mail them in an envelope! As long as your mail is under the weight limit for a paper envelope. Some families eat a lot of bread products that have these tabs and could save up a lot easily, and mail them in a bubble mailer or small flat rate box for about $3-7. We do not use much bread (only 2 of us here and we don't eat a lot of packaged vread products)
