@MosheGoldbergTheKing , it was a mid contract, and nearly all of his numbers were better than mid. Considering what he was working with (Carmichael, offensive line, AK suspension, MT injury and drama, personal injuries, and more), he well outperformed his contract.

The "best" teams can pay less for their QB and invest in other weapons I think. If you have Tom Brady and can invest in high quality weapons elsewhere, recipe for success. Even last year look at Brock Purdy and the great roster the 9ers had last year. Think about it. There is a defined limited pool of resources for your main roster.

I don’t necessarily disagree that Lawrence’s contract seems a bit high, but I believe everyone is kind of giving him a mulligan on his rookie season (including the Jags org). Urban Meyer was… bad. If you throw out Trevor’s rookie year then the stats look a lot better.

I get both sides of this argument. His stats are not good, but I could get behind Trevor Lawrence more than those other qbs. To me his losing record is like when Sean Payton goes 7-9 every now and then. I'd still rather have him than Dennis Allen, even though Allen just had a winning season. Trevor has sound fundamentals and I could see him taking a step forward in the next couple of years.
