A reconstruction of the music of Blade Runner as it appears in the Final Cut, using a variety of sources for best sound without dialogue or sound effects.
The second appearance of an excerpt from the Ensemble Nipponia recording of the traditional Japanese song "Ogi No Mato." The complete recording, from the 1976 album Japan: Traditional Vocal and Instrumental Music, is nearly eleven minutes long. Editor Terry Rawlings only used an excerpt of one section from this piece, repeated at different lengths in several points in the film. The shortest is 25 seconds, the longest just over a minute

Ogi No Mato is a VERY meaningful song. Under the category of throat singing but it’s also a little bit sophisticated and mostly “higher ranking” perform and or take part in being performed for. As for all Japanese music of the old ways shows a very different world that we’ve moved away from which is sad AF. So many of these songs were also part of theatre performances. Think Kabuki and such. This also might be considered part of Noh style.
