TOPIC: DOES YOUR TOUCH BRING HEALING?
First Reading: Second Kings 25: 1-12
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 137: 1-2, 3, 4-5, 6
Alleluia: Matthew 8: 17
Gospel: Matthew 8: 1-4
In today's Gospel, the leper showed great faith in Jesus’ ability to heal him. He said, “Sir, if you wish to, you can make me clean”. And Jesus did heal him and gave him strict instructions to show himself to the priest to be examined and declared clean again and not to tell anyone about this miracle.
This miracle teaches us that God is concerned about us and will reach out and touch us in times of need. It also reminds us that we should be willing to reach out and care for all of those who are shunned by society or are outcasts.
Many of Jesus’ engagements highlight the fact that nobody is unwelcome in His house, at His table, in His presence. We are free to approach Him in prayer at any time, to bask in the mystery and privilege of being loved and healed.
This is the 1523rd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Jess Ferrer, Head of the CFC Migrants Program, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
