Watching another 'Jeopardy," I notice another young American of India descent and wonder just what is it about southern culture that brings so many immigrants from India to the region? Very interesting because they seem to be assimilating successfully without all the social debris that accompanies either African Americans or Native Americans. While I know of no Native American governor of any state American state, we do know from history that a Free Person born in Georgia named Pinkney B. S. Pinchback was appointed governor during the Reconstruction Period. No such progress at that level has been seen since in that state. But immigrants from India seem to be leaping social hurdles with great ease and finesse. Interesting indeed.
