The figures look good. I am working on 1806-1807 Russians. I always find the white straping on Napoleonic figures to be a difficult part as well. I think outlining the strapping with black or dark gray is helpful. It is still difficult but I think it helps. Good Luck!

Lookin good so far. As to the strapping i agree with you, it just looks messy, i gave up on painting my Russians, because i couldn't get the strapping to look anything.

We're our harshest critics. You're off to a solid start and I think they're looking good. But if you want to do some experimenting on the colors now is a good chance.

They look good these Russian Grenadiers . Just my opinion , but seems the trousers are too white compare to the upper part . Maybe just some light tone shades will do the trick .

Your painting details are very good and clean especially the gear and faces. I can see you did a lot of napoleonics.

The guys look good mate. I might suggest 2 things that helped with my russians. I used a white spray like yourself but in hindsight grey might have been better. I also used the Foundry triad, which I found to be super useful for the coats as I had no dark greens. Lastly how do you paint your straps? I go a light grey then Off White over the top. The grey helps me pick out the straps (hence thinking grey spray is better for Naps). On that French comission I used a Khaki spray from Halfords which gave me a jump start in the trousers. Just food for thought, but honest mate your a top painter. Don't let some silly straps get to you!!!!

They look ok mate, I can’t picture Russian green in my mind but if it is contrast green you used scrap it and use normal methods. You could use a off white for the strapping even deck tan?

Great figures, I’m just painting the same Perry Russians and ironically have the same issue in reverse! I’ve gone for a black undercoat which other than making my Russian green quite a lot darker has allowed the black lining effect to show off the white webbing really well, but I’m not so happy with my jaegers and their black webbing where despite highlighting upto a mid grey they loose definition 😮😀😀 keep at it they look great oh and when you get to it the Russian flags really help make the units look great (using gmb) cheers JP 👍👍
