Just found your channel and this was the first video I watched. I really appreciate your perspective. I bought my "dream boat" a year ago. It came with 2 Helix 7s. The console has mega side and down imaging. I'm really pouring myself into trying to learn and perfect what I have. At this point I don't know if I'll ever go the live scope route or not. Mainly because I don't want all that stuff on my bow. If I can figure out how to locate and catch crappie using what I have and learning from people like you, then I'll be satisfied. I just sub'd. Take care!

Hi, I just found your channel. You're on the right side of the dam. Chickamauga isn't worth a crap with all this pressure. You'll catch 100 to get 15 keepers, if you catch 15 keepers. It's about over, very few boats are putting in at Dayton right now. That's the first time I can say that since 2015. The attention is turning to Watts Bar since the big tournaments have been stopped in Dayton. You guys need to band together and stop that before you end up like us. Elect politicians that will reject these tournaments. Ask them where they stand before voting. We finally did elect a mayor that is for the people but we now have to recover. I don't think it will ever be the same. I live close to this damn Blue Water Campground and they have a map where you stick pins so all the other damn yankees will know where to go. I'd be glad to tell em where to go! It'll be a little dry for fishing...

Got me a Garmin Strike plus, I was new with the Kayak, Crappie AND, using electronics in a new state with warm lakes, LOL. So a lot of new situations, I'm still learning and don't feel like I have it down as I should. I mean sure I can find some structure BUT I was hoping to be able to see crappies around the structure and as far as I know...I haven't been able to or at least recognize if it is crappies I'm looking at. I've tried tinkering with the settings adjusting the gains, top water noise, speed etc, seems a little complicated but hey, I'm still trying. good Luck Eddie.

Another great video! I really appreciate your willingness to help others. Most of us started fishing minnows and still do. In W TN we fished the buck brush or button ball willows with a cane pole. My dad started tying ferrules on them made of paper clips. Worked great and still use them occasionally when wading. Something I have found really helpful is the Lake Master Maps card for your side scan. There is a program called Contour Elite that takes the Lake Master and lets you put it on you computer and you can explore drops, creeks bays etc. from home. You can make way points and print it and that portion of the map with coordinates or take the SD card and put it in your sonar. Sorry for the length, will share more such as building structure later on. PB

Really good vid. I would say to get better with artificials, go with a graphite rod. I love the Okuma Celilo 6' ULfor about $40. Any small spinning real but get 8# Power Pro braid. I put a 4' of 6# mono leader on it. Crappie hit a jig Sooo light sometimes, there is no way you will detect it on that long rod or a fiberglass rod and mono, especially that deep. I use 1" or 2 1/2" Gulp minnows that work great and easier to use and get than minnows. I use a dropshop ith a #6 hook and 1/8 to 1/4 oz weight depending on depth and wind. Hope this helps
