Видеоряд времен войны в Афганистане 1979-89 года. Но песня задумана совсем не об этом, хотя и хорошо легла на видео.

Quite right. The song is anti-war. Tsoi is against the senseless Afghan war and the death of Russian soldiers in Afghanistan. What did they forget there? What did they die for? The video sequence shows communist leaders on TV screens. Party bosses sent Russian guys to this war, while they themselves sat in safety. And in the finale, unfortunate parents walk between the soldiers with photographs of their children, in an attempt to find out at least some information about them. No war. All people need peace.

this is the soundtrack to the "Needle" film which was shot in 1988 in Almaty, Kazakhstan where I am from..... and I was 18 at that time and that film was massive. 14,6 million people watched in within the first 18 months of its release.

Victor has never served in the army. So the blood type on the sleeve is a metaphor. Such information is indicated on army badges.

If you're like me, this is another reason to thank Diana. After I first heard her I was hooked. Eventually, I came to realise that there must be other great Russian artists (I can be a bit slow at times!). As a result I found Alisa Supronova, Polina Gagarina, Anna Pingina, Grai, Slot, Otyken and others. I first heard songs by Kino as covers - "Cuckoo" by Polina and "Blood Type" by Alisa, this of course led to listening to the originals and then discovering more of the works of Victor Tsoi and Kino.

Hi 2 GEN REACTIONS. Большое спасибо за то, что исполнили мою просьбу. За Кино. За обратную связь. Но многих раздражает то, что песни человека(Виктор Цой), который был пацыфист, монтируют с военными видео. Песня не о войне. Виктор зачастую в своих песнях использовал войну как метафору. Его тексты с глубоким смыслом. И кстати перевод на английский здесь неточный а местами неправильный. Но как бы там не было музыка Цоя превосходная! Пожалуйста по чаще Кино! Кукушка. Вы слушали ее в версии Шамана, но наверное не знали, что это песня Цоя группы Кино. Теперь послушайте оригинал.

This video uses footage from documentaries and news reports from the 1980s. The dying Soviet Union, the war in Afghanistan and ordinary people who do not understand what is happening. They just live and do their duty... and the country is already almost dead and the new owners are buying their cities and selling their lives. Viktor Tsoi and the songs of the Kino very well convey the atmosphere of that strange, terrible, but amazing time of hope. Terrible precisely because hopes for the future did not come true.
