About 2 Meter Sessions
====================
Based in the Netherlands, 2 Meter Sessions is an independent, ongoing (new) music platform with a great legacy. Monthly we film 3 to 4 sessions with promising and breakthrough acts from all over the world.
Many well-known acts have visited the show; from James Taylor, Elliott Smith and David Crosby to Damien Jurado, Ben Howard and Josh Ritter, via Radiohead, Nirvana, Coldplay and Foo Fighters. Archive footage can regularly be seen in (theatrical) documentary movies, like “Mystify: Michael Hutchence” (with footage of our session with INXS, filmed in 1997), “Heaven Adores You” (with footage of our session with Elliott Smith, filmed in 1998) and “All I Can Say” (with footage of our session with Blind Melon, filmed in 1993).
The show started back in 1987 by radio presenter Jan Douwe Kroeske. On his popular national radio show he persuaded New-Zeeland band Crowded House to play a couple of songs. The response of the public was so great, that 2 Meter Sessions quickly became a household name. In 1993, the show made a successful transition to national television. From there the show became a national phenomenon, for over 10 years, with filmed sessions of new talent, breakthrough acts and arrived career artists. Almost a million of 2 Meter Sessions cd’s were sold in the Netherlands.

Jackson Browne is the reason I am happy and successful today. I was a shy ~15 year old in Kansas City in the late 80s and Jackson Browne was the main artist I listened to (over and over while I was skateboarding) and I was so lucky to take my girlfriend to the concert. It was at night and we got there in the late morning and waited by the bus to see him. We brought food and water, waited all day and he magically got in without alerting us. The show was way beyond awesome and I didn’t think life could get better! We decided to go to the load out area to see if we could see him and I was at the back of 80-100 people and Jackson called me (yes to my great surprise) to come up front and talk with him. I was in heaven. He asked me multiple questions (especially about my Bad Brains T shirt) and I was so star struck by my hero that I had trouble saying anything. He told me he really liked my shirt and the crowd started chanting for me to trade shirts. I easily could have done that but in my (stupid) mind I thought the shirt was more valuable to me because Jackson was interested in it. I wish I would have traded shirts but I will always remember that concert as the moment that I realized that my dreams can come true if I tried hard enough because they did that day! Because of Jackson I started studying harder, making good grades, went to medical school (which before him I would never have tried) and went on to work with people who got no assistance anywhere else and I couldn’t be happier!!!! Thank you Jackson for giving my life purpose!!!! 😊❤️

like everyone else i have been listening to jackson browne for over 40 years. to me this looks like a couple of guys on a saturday making music and having some fun. the sad thing is we all get old but videos like this bring us back in time, and its very enjoyable. jeff lindley and jackson had a long journey playing together and its sad to hear jeff passed away last year, but in 2010 there are some great videos of them playing togher. seeing them in older age and still enjoying each other making beautiful music is a wonderful time for us followers of jackson browne. keep it going jackson.

@@frznrrfan.frznrrfan102 Yes indeed. Never seen anything like it, but then I’m just a novice. Since Jackson downplays drums because of his style, I wish he had used this ploy more often. Think it could have made headlines as a technique, but with this one little song, it was not noticed. Don’t get me wrong, this is no little song, it was just a rather small venue, something I think at which Jackson excels .

The first time I heard this was not too long ago… I had just discovered Jackson browne‘s music for me and was playing a best of album on my phone as I sat in my schools library, two seats away from the girl that broke my heart, one seat away from the girl I love today. I was stressing about my final exams coming up but procrastinating nonetheless haha… anyway I remember quite vividly the moment as the two songs transitioned into one another and a massive smile appeared on my face. I would consider myself a bit of a music buff, however the joy I continuously get with these two songs had been and is unrivaled for me to this day. Stay makes me just want to get up, sing and dance my heart out every time it comes on. That first day in the library when I heard it, I listened to it on repeat maybe 10 times and the smile I was wearing never faded- only when the song fades out but of course that only temporary… until I press those two arrows in the left direction to make stay play again :) thanks mr. Browne

Credit where credit is due. Jackson Browne co-wrote this song with Bryan Garofalo. One of the most underrated songs in history. I bet many of us folks fifty years and older can't help but stop and let our heads and hearts go back in history and remember the good fun we had. Life was a blast!!! Thankful for having grown up during those times with talented artists.

I would like to see anyone of todays" "Artists" or "stars" do something like this. This is what you call talent, songs that stand the test of time, and musicians that can actually play an instrument. Even if it is a cardboard box!!

Rubbish. There are more talented artists out there now than there have ever been. Look beyond your Taylor Swifts, and just open your eyes and ears. It's not that hard. Don't be lazy.

@dennytenny I didn't say people can't sing, I said the music sucks and they have zero talent. Get back to me when some of these "great singers" have really long careers and can still do it after say 30 yrs. Some of them should just be hitting their mid to late 40's or early 50's, so they should be on top of the world still with all of their scary talent and enduring songs people would still listen to. You know big stars like Psy and Carly Rae Jepsen.

So great! I freak out if I have to play piano in front of people; I'd REALLY freak if a camera came up just inches away. But Jackson is a pro; he's used to it. Miss you, Scott Thurston!

+Dale B. There are many stories about how well he paid , union or not. When he was really young , he was very low on money ( until he met Nico at age 18) and depended on sleeping in his agent’s laundry room. He later shared an apartment with Greg Allman. An apartment meant having no refrigeration ,only canned foods. He also rented above Glenn Frye. Jackson understood the struggles and always paid well , from what I have read.

True talent doesn't need much to make music. I've been privileged enough to be in on several jam sessions in life, and it always amazed me, a box, a bucket, a broom, you can make music with most anything if the talent is there.I saw Jackson three times, and every time he did this song, I damn near cried. This is one of the best tribute songs ever written> Man, those were the days-s-s-s-s--s-s-s-s-s.

I've been listening to this song for 42 years now. Mr. Browne is one of those times enduring talents. Like Elton John, his voice just gets richer, and it is as much a joy today to hear his music as it was when I was just a kid. And I love that the drums on this version are just cardboard boxes with a mic tossed under!

Of all the amazing songs, this one seems to ring truer than true today. Stay. Believe. Be real. Admit your true feelings. Give breath and life and energy to what is REAL, in a time when reality is taking a back seat. I know you have given so much already, but we need you now more than ever. Please keep writing and singing and sharing. Have loved you forever.

A true Legend. Great singer, songwriter, and composer.💕His music is timeless and classic. His singing abilities.. are not nearly recognized as should be. He has raw, undeveloped talent, that far surpasses words.💞 One of my favorite singers of all time.🥰

About 15 years ago, maybe a bit more, I was working in Bullhead City, AZ which is about 90 miles from Vegas. There was a woman around my age (close to 60 at the time) whose son went to a concert in Vegas, I don't remember who that headliner was. But when her son got back from the concert he told his mom about this great "new" guy that opened the show by the name of Jackson Browne. She and I had a good laugh over that "new" thing. Mr. Browne isn't new now or then, but like fine wine he just keeps getting better. He has a resume that few can compare to and we, the listeners are honored indeed to listen to the works of a master craftsman. Thank you Mr. Browne for hours and hours of listening pleasure, smiles and tears and lots of head bobbing to the beat.

I have a great respect for a few musicians...Jackson Browne definitely one. I don't think I would have been a California girl that loves it. Too much traffic. 1 year in clouded air might have been worth a conversation. I'm 1000 miles away but always a fan living in Charleston SC. When the day comes and my ashes meet the water ...well it is obvious what song will be playing
