In this video I walk through removing, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and reinstalling the master window switch and mirror control switch in my 1992 Toyota 4Runner. These steps also apply to any 2nd generation 4Runner (1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995) as well as some other Toyota vehicles from the same era.

Thank you for posting this video. I was sweating bullets today since my window wouldn't roll up today on my 91 4runner, You great video quality gave me the confidence to take it apart clean it and put it back together. It fixed my window not rolling up. and made the switches work better (they were sluggish before) Thanks for being my hero today.

this turned out to be my problem. My switch contacts were all full of burnt up carbon dust. a bit of scrubbing and rubbing alcohol did the trick. All four windows roll up and down now.

My right rear (RR) window switch on the driver’s side is intermittent. Is this an indication that it needs cleaning? I’m reluctant to do it as the rest of the switches are fine. Any guidance?
