As in other postings, I make no secret that I'd really like to jam with these guys. The bagpipe is a tradional Scotch-Irish instrument, but was not commonly played because it requires reeds of a species that does not grow in North America. Nowadays that's not a problem, but back then it was. The pipes didn''t take hold in America because they just couldn't get reeds or the material to make them.

know these guys, for years, They started out as a camp band for Company I of the Second South. Captain John's, the company commander, liked to have music in the evening. Spent many hours in their camp as an Foreign Observer from the Wurtemburg. Unfortunately, these days their music will be decried and ordered removed

I believe they did their last major gig last year at the event that launched them. At one event I want to say two years ago, someone had left an explosive device in a suttler's tent right next to where the 2nd South was playing. Everyone was escorted out, but they didn't know what was going on till later.
