Dennis, you are the man! You've helped me once again. Thank you. Opened up my old reel and found the drag stack up wrong. Still won't tighten up all the way so it looks like I need new drag washers.

Nice job. I learn a lot from your videos. I have a 80s era Daiwa spin reel with bad anti reverse. That will be my net project.

Hi, you have a great channel, it helps a lot! I have this reel and since i got it at when casting the bail closes suddenly and cuts off the leader... I saw your vid about fixing the bail when this problem exists, but i couldnt fixe it...its still doing the same ..

Thanks for the tutorial! I found this reel, brand new still in the clamshell, in my dad’s garage. Will definitely use your video to lube the reel before use. Do you have any idea the drag rating of this model? I plan to use this for surf fishing stripers, perch, and halibut.

I was curious about this reel because a guy just offered me a 400S for $12.00. The AR switch is not functioning correctly so I imagine one or both of those prongs is bent or missing. The AR situation worries me and the fact that this is not a very hardy reel from a strength standpoint. With what I’ve told you would you want this reel for $12? I have very few graphite case reels. I have a few that are a mixture of graphite and metal like the Mitchell 4450 and 4470 reels. Another thing I don’t like on reels especially their spools that have stuck on labels instead of paint or metal labels. This 400S doesn’t appear to have ever had line on it so it is close to new. What do you think? --- Chris
