Camera Specs Comparison | Pixel 9 Pro Fold vs Galaxy Z Fold 6 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h7lhqMVz3tK0d58.html

… an there goes all my excitement. I would think that the more expensive my phone, the better my camera. 😢
@Mark-ns3joАй бұрын
Same here. Are you still going to get it? I'm debating it now, since I did want better cameras. That 50MP 5x camera on the 9 Pro is what I wanted the most

You paying for the foldable form factor. Get the regular bar phone if you want cameras
@Mark-ns3joАй бұрын
@@GAMIR_SFM We all know that, but we thought we'd finally get cameras on par, or closer to the Pro models given it shares the name with it and has an ugly camera module we thought would house better cameras.
@illbet4589Ай бұрын
@@Mark-ns3jo yeah I will probably still get it because the Z fold 6 outer screen is too narrow for me.
@Mark-ns3joАй бұрын
@@illbet4589 Same. Camera is just my concern. I had a feeling it might have been worse than the mainline Pixel's, but it might be too bad for me to actually want it. I'll need to see some actual pictures first.
@nicknorthcutt7680Ай бұрын
All they had to do was stretch out the camera bump to the end so it looks symmetrical and they could have fit in much better sensors. Who cares if it adds a few grams? It's a worthy trade off. I don't understand how Google expects us to buy a "Pro" phone when none of the camera sensors are even close to pro 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@ChrisJohannsenАй бұрын
Wow you must be an expert engineer to know that
@megamegaOАй бұрын
You have to keep in mind most photos aren't raw...It's mostly software processing, in which Google is king when it comes to taking amazing pics.

The smaller battery is more noteworthy to me than the camera sensors...
@jbrophybaseballАй бұрын
The 3LU on the Pro Fold ultrawide is indeed a downgrade as both the sensor size and pixel size get smaller, which means less light can be brought into the lens. Like you mention, they'll probably lean hard into getting the best they can out of the sensor with the G4 and software algorithms, but the IMX260 in the Galaxy S7 had better specs than the 3LU.
@suave319Ай бұрын
They better do something with them "software algorithms" I tell ya hwat 😤

Are Google and Samsung purposely not upgrading the cameras like we want, to not hurt the sales of their other devices?
@volcalstoneАй бұрын
Once we have a perfect phone no one will be upgrading it ever. Also the price will be more expensive too if they aren't already.
@ChrisJohannsenАй бұрын
They have probably calculated that the lost profit from including the best cameras probably won't equate to more sales, since normies don't notice either way
@imopnАй бұрын
Urg, wad hoping the Fold won't be gimped again. Really wish they would make it the same as the pro xl but just with the extra large screen that fold open. Yes it will be expensive but it will be worth it. Now you have expensive and gimped
@Andrew_Malee_VlogАй бұрын
One of the things I was hoping was an upgrade on the camera on the pixel pro fold I'm disappointed they are keeping the main sensor the same .it should be at least the same as the pixel 9 .why call it the pro? 1/2 sensor isn't good enough software can only get you so far but when it comes to low light it can be a different story. even the pixel 7a has better sensor. .not to mention the battery size is getting smaller. It's not looking good
@aliettienne2907Ай бұрын
On the fold I don't see the urgency to bump up the camera specs to the best on the market, the phone and tablet mode is what compensates for a lower grade camera. The biggest selling point on the foldable is its phone and tablet mode, a two in one feature, but a lower quality camera can't negate the main selling point. If you add the best camera specs on the market to the foldable then this to me is superfluous. I won't dispute whether having all the best in everything (hardware and software) in the foldable (which includes top camera specs) will increase its attraction. But at the same time having a subtle deficiency wouldn't hurt its attraction either in the market. 😎💯💪🏾👍🏾
@bluej2kАй бұрын
Of all the upgrades on the consumer wish-list I see endless requests for better cameras, stylus support, more conventional sized front screen, larger overall inner screen, more memory, IR blaster, microSD card support, wireless charging, faster charging, bigger batteries and better reliability. One of the least important requests seems to be lower overall thickness and weight - yet that is what all the foldable makers seems obsessed with - along with all the compromises needed to fit features inside the smaller, thinner case. Why is that?
@raxcentalruthenta1456Ай бұрын
Honestly, I expect the pixel 9 pro fold to still take better photos than my z fold 4. Pixel has amazing camera software. With my ZF4 I have to struggle to get a photo I'm happy with unless the subject is in full sun.
@Rivs5117Ай бұрын
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold better take better photos than your ZF4 considering it’s a two year old device 😂
@davidniositechАй бұрын
I like the idea to have 4x 50mpx Sensors on the Pixel 9 Pro XL, it ware better they change the Samsung for the main camera too! But it's cool they have 3x the same Sensor! This should be do more color consistency!
@RJ_UploadsАй бұрын
Like I said before when they changed the body style of the pixel fold 1, I wasn't feeling that new style from the form factor being close to a OnePlus in which I did not like that form factor, looks like I will just be getting the 9 pro smaller version and the regular razor 2024, but cheers to all that get the pixel fold 2 I really hope it's a great device.

@SeanmmviАй бұрын
Eh, luckily cameras are the lowest priority for me.... All flagship phones have good enough cameras. They're certainly good enough for the pictures I take to remember where I parked in a big parking lot. My 4(5?) year old note 20 ultra takes excellent photos, and I'm sure this pixel fold (and the z fold 6 for that matter) take better pictures than my phone. When I watch phone reviews, I literally skip the camera review portion (which oddly enough usually seems to be more than half of the video). I'm still firmly seated on the hype train doing the happy dance.
@DJourney87Ай бұрын
I really want to follow up my Fold 1 with the second, but the dimensions changes along with the lackluster cameras, I think I'm going back to the candybar but keeping my fold as a backup. Really looking forward to the Pink variant 😅 Edit: Also a MAIN complaint of the Pixel Fold 1 was how heavy it was, so it seems Google is trying to fix that. I understand the tradeoffs and it's clear that Google AND Samsung are trying to find that good middle ground to not make a device that weighs 10 pounds or isn't to inconvenient to own
@GetERektedАй бұрын
An then you have the oneplus open who seems to have found that middle ground. Of course it took them 3 generations to get there (Oppo Find N3)

Still using GNK on the Pixel 9 pros is not a good thing. That's an old, small sensor. The best phone cameras have been using one inch sensors for like 3 years at this point.

From my perspective, that primary sensor has been outputting photos that are among the best of the best. Upgrading the other sensors and leaving that one alone is fine with me.

Something i hate about phone makers regardless of brand is the way they will prioritise cosmetics or form factor by degrading the hardware , or not improving on it . Often they will do this and throw in a couple of gimmicky features as a carrot to potential buyers, i like good hardware , if it’s not good I vote with my money.
@arwynpalmer1990Ай бұрын
I had high hopes for the 9 pro fold but worse cameras and smaller battery just dosent justify that price point, going with the pro xl now i think

I was not a fan of the new camera bump, but I thought they must have included top-of-the-line sensors if they were sacrificing the layout. Nope... Oh well hopefully software can pull it up, though then you have to wonder why put better sensors in the other phones.

Well after the zfold 6 again didn't fix my issue with there cover display being to narrow, after holding one in the store I decided to go with either waiting on the next pixel fold or getting the oneplus and yesterday I ordered the oneplus got $700 trade in for my zfold 4 and they had a coupon for another $300 off so after taxes I got it for $750 which I was happy about. Now this information about the new pixel fold makes me feel even better about the decision to go with the oneplus, it's cameras will blow the pixel folds away. Plus I loved the option with the oneplus to essentially have two phones I can have my personal phone when I use one finger to unlock the phone and my work phone when I use a different finger to open the phone, I love that feature. Plus I love the multi tasking on the oneplus.

How someone should interpret the camera spec evolution in such an expensive lineup as the PIXEL FOLD ? When manufacturers command from their customers to give them repeatedly, close to $2000, shouldn't they make it damn sure that their customers will get each time a respectful upgrade in software and hardware?

@gilleojaxАй бұрын
As with Samsung and their Fold, the cameras aren't as good as what you get with their S Ultra line. Google shouldn't change the name of their Fold to the "Pro" name. I understand with size and space limitations you just can't fit the same sensors but they should've just kept the same bar (camera module) as the original Fold. I think that would've helped. The one thing I like about Samsung's Fold is that the form factor is the same. I don't like when a company just copies what the latest trend is ... I wish they would've kept their original design.

I can see why this might be discouraging. On paper it's a bummer, but I honestly wouldn't worry about it too much, if at all. Most photos are processed through software anyways, not the raw sensor itself. So in terms of quality I STILL believe Google Fold 2 will be top dog, compared to ZF6 with their age old camera tech, and OPO which isn't even gonna be releasing this year anyways. So I wouldnt really consider this discouraging, since it's the processing will make up for whatever it might lack in raw sensor...I mean the the main talk about Pixels IS their great photos, THANKS to their software processing, which most brands have ALSO jumped on. Reason why Zfolds always have the same camera tech in them.

Definitely passing on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold now. Makes no sense to buy the most expensive phone when it lacks in certain areas compared to the flagship. Bringing the fold into the Pixel 9 lineup is a step in the right direction so that it's not constantly behind when it comes to processing chip but I won't be buying until the Fold's cameras are at the level of the flagship device.
