The Animations were done in Australia at the Movie World Studio's on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia. The song was recorded in London. The film Clip won the 1986 Grammy for best film Clip. The 1st & only Norwegian Band to win a Grammy. It also won 6 MTV Awards. It reached No1 in Australia & Britain in late 1984. It reached No1 in the US in early 1985.

Even though this was made back in the dawn of music videos, it's still miles better than most stuff that gets made these days. It's gotta be one of the best 5 music videos of all time. I LOVED this a kid back when it came out. The synth riff instantly takes me back to playing with my Star Wars figures in my folks' living room while this plays on TV.

A-ha... found you....LOL Honesty time. I hated this when is new, but now I think " what a clown I was" and it was all to keep up an image being a 24 carat meatlhead. Love the video, even if it's looking dated now. If I may be so bold, I can recomend one from about the same time from a band that were very underrated. They're called Icehouse, and the song I have in mind is "Hey little girl". You might not like it, but not many did as the band didn't go that far.

I think the popularity of this song besides being a great tune is that the video just smashed barriers in the video genre of the time with MTV being the most influential marketing tool at the time.... Sometimes a great video could elevate a mediocre song or as in the case of Billy Squires - pretty much end a career....
