The first video has rain, symbolizing the torrential downpour of grief as it initially hits you after a loss. That video, like death, ends abruptly and without warning. The second video features snow, symbolizing the cold numbness of loss and the feelings that lead to thoughts of suicide. The final video's theme is fire. Like the fury of not being able to handle ones own emotions and the unfairness of losing someone we love. The climax is when there is silence, and as Will inhales, the man strikes the lighter. The trilogy concludes with the quiet absolution of a smoldering fire. This trilogy, as I have said time and time again, is a masterpiece. The lyrics, the cinematic orchestral music, the cinematography, the acting, and the band's real life emotion that is felt in every line makes this one of the greatest pieces of music I have ever witnessed. I have watched these 3 videos countless times now, and I cry every single time.

I listened to all 3 on repeat since the whole album dropped. While the entire album is a work of art, the 3 part title track is a masterpiece. It helped me process some emotions that had raged within me and I had kind of pushed aside. It helped me.face them, full force, and process them. I finally healed from years of heartache, that I'd tried to process, because Lorna Shore had put it into better words than I could have dreamed of.

Quotes from the band about the story of the Pain Remains Trilogy: "The first song, 'Dancing like Flames,' begins with the main character becoming enamored by the person within his dreams," they explained. "He decides to turn to this reality as a sense of purpose despite knowing that the closer he gets to his goal, the further it seems to drift away. "This leads to the second song, 'After All I've Done, I'll Disappear.' This is the part where the person vanishes, and the main character struggles to accept the pain. He as well wishes to disappear and seeks to throw it all away. "Finally, the trilogy ends with the last song, 'In a Sea of Fire,' which focuses with not just acceptance but also anger. Anger at not just himself, but the world around him. The song ends with the main character choosing to wake up by igniting the world. As the fires grow, he is absolved in a sea of fire so that he too may finally disappear."

It's hard to watch, but it shows and talks about something a lot of us try to ignore. No one wants to think about these things, but they happen and people go through this. This trilogy is masterful in approaching the topic. If it were easy to watch or not painful, then it wouldn't hold the meaning it does. Pain Remains. All of us handle it differently, but if we talked about it more, and treated it like what it is, pain, I think it would be easier to keep things like this from happening. It's interesting too how differently videos and music like this can affect you from one day to the next. I'm in a lot of physical pain today, but not depressed or anywhere near what these videos portray, but seeing the pain in them, helps ease my own physical pain a little. And I'm absolutely crying as opposed to my normal tearing up I get on these videos. Pain is a strange creature indeed.

As you two said it, never be alone during something like this. These songs almost perfectly describe what happened to my cousin except he has a very large and loving family that was with him the whole time to help share his pain and to ensure he was never alone in his suddenly empty house. It doesn't matter how much it hurts, you just spread that pain and make it hurt so much more for everyone else by exiting the stage. He lost his entire family but he has managed to move on and find happiness again.

This trilogy means so much to me. I lost my fiancé a few years ago and I feel every bit of this. He was my best friend and lost him shattered me. These songs let me know I’m not alone with this kind of grief and anger. I cry through each song and it is cathartic. I will soon have my Matt’s last heart beats tattooed on my am with the line “Where do you go when I close my eyes”. Because only in sleep do I not see him in front of me. This trilogy will stay in my heart forever.

They glide so well together while being very different. The first one ending on. " Am I just a ghost just like you, caught between the Seams of two intertwining melodies? " Leading into the second song, where hope is gone, and he might be alive, but living like a ghost, the second song is the time between melodies. So the ending of the first song leads to the expressions of the second. And then to the 3 where it about getting past the empty space between melodies. Where he is no longer a ghost just acting, but the emotions he is feeling is acting through him. Pain, anger, everything. The attempt in the second part was the uncontrolled action, the lack of everything. While the choice in the 3 was made with and understanding what he felt his life had become. Ending the trilogy with the words " Dancing like flames, after all that I've done I'll salt the earth and disappear in a sea of fire " Dancing like Flames being part 1 All that I've done being part 2 In a Sea of fire being part 3 And the 3 also bind the first part into it again, after the half part of the song, with the sort of breakdown, the melody and flow goes through some of the same waves we heard in the first song- ending with the bells and string actually playing through the same notes, but it start before that leading up to it. So both the story and the music is brought back together at the end. And even the music video that is telling the story plays into this, but with the band. They play in the same location. In the first one it rains, its a storm, the storm of loss, not knowing what to do or think, its all just chaos. Part 2 has snow. You are no longer in shock, the chaos have gone away. But all it has left is a cold feeling of emptiness, there is nothing. everything is frozen solid, like every thing ended in a second, time stand still. and life can not move on. Part 3, when there is flames, and its not for anger. its about ending. Fire burns away life, but it also leave something new to grow. He does not do what he does out of the blue, he have said his goodbye, and are ready for what comes next. And he burns away the rest of him in this life. Like he says in the first " A life without you is not meant for me " so with fire he erase himself, instead of spending a life frozen and stuck in time. Same way life starts and end the same place, in all forms. no matter the start or the end. You never know where you start. And when you are at the end, it does not really matter. It was the choices and feelings between the melodies you experiences along the way that guided you to what ever end you had. The two things in life that does not matter to you, is the start, and the ending. because you are not there to deal with them or experience them. Yet it is those two things that mean the most when all is said and done. Because what ever you did with your life, those you loved, and those you hurt is all because your life started. And your actions in between the melodies is what you will be remembered for. ( Double post in first and third, since I watched all 3 at the same time )

Never in a thousand years would I have imagined a song trilogy from a deathcore band would make me as a grown man cry as much as I had from some music videos. The stages of loss and grief seem to be symbolized by the rainstorm/thunderstorm, blizzard, and fire with the band in those elements makes it feel like the bands music and lyrics are the physical manifestation of the mans inner emotions and state of mind. Along with the music being wonderfully written and expertly produced, the cinematography just builds onto that powerful story the music and lyrics paint. You said it yourself, masterpiece. On a much lighter note, I love the channel and videos from you both! Cheers! 🤘

I made the right decision. Ooof. Holy shit. I don’t usually use that language but this is a lot to take in. I’ve been a nurse my entire adult life and I’ve seen a lot of stuff that has stuck with me. I’ve lost a child, my unofficially adopted dad, close friends, two grandparents, etc and I can relate to this. One thing that has kept me going is the belief in an afterlife. If I didn’t think I would ever see them again, what would be the point? I’m not trying to get religious or judgmental because I believe that if you live a good life and have a good heart, you will go to heaven, but there are people who don’t think there’s anything after this life. In comparison, this life is very short compared to eternity. Between that and knowing that I have my girls and Justin to care for, there’s plenty to fight for. Some people lose sight of that and it’s hard to fight through. I have felt so alone recently, with the ongoing isolation and people just not understanding our life. It’s not their fault. But it does hurt. Thankfully I have close friends that I keep in touch with virtually and see on occasion in person (but haven’t since Covid) And having your videos to watch gives me something to look forward to, someone I feel is rooting for us. And that’s not a small thing. Thank you Grannies. You’re more than just a KZfaq channel. You’ve truly created an amazing community that feels like family. We love you. The third one speaks especially to me. Have those feelings so much and the "bury me" hits me so hard every time. I fought those thoughts over 10 years now and still not getting rid of it. But you need to find your place in the darkness and keep moving on, especially when you're on your own. I distanced from everyone and everything just to not get dragged down even further. I gave up my life and still I'm standing. Sometimes it's just hard to fight alone, especially when you don't have the strength to do so.

Hey Grannies, I watched all three before making a comment and I'm really not sure what to think about it. If I had a larger screen maybe I could have made more sense out of it. I'm sure it had to be good but I couldn't understand what was happening. But it's ok. I'll see you next time. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend ☺️

This trilogy hit me really hard, I won't go into details here, but I'll just say I have the same problem as Batman I can't get over those I've lost, or some of them, I just feel so much guilt over it that I can't move on and I'll just say trigger warning I've had multiple attempts I just can't take the pain and just want out, and these songs just seemed to put all my thoughts into 3 songs, I've been told time and time again it gets better, but so far the longer I go on the harder it gets to not look for an escape, sorry to get so personal it's just tough not to get personal when talking about these kinds of songs.

Hope you 2 grannies are ok as ik it was a hard but beautiful but tragic series an only music videos that made me cry a lot as I know the stages of grievance an to stay away from the destabilizing grievances as it can lead to self destruction an I lost a x to a drunk driver in 2012 an grievances were similar but I had to keep going forwards an not let it take me as I believed in never self harm or self destruction . We all can feel it eternally but it never has to be so bad to it being external so I always tell people love life love your family friends lover loved ones an to never self destruct if any one needed some one to talk to I'm always hear to help if it's to far outta my hands I tell people seek help an seek solice as theres more to life than the bad an loss it's what keeps a lot alive an well an always much love an suport an to all as people need it an I always say it's better to be alive an to live on than to self destruct as many love an care an if going out like that would leave others in disposition an griefe an no one deserves that . Only love care an suport an a helping hand an to keep strong an grieve an go forwards in healing heal an keep healing an forwards never stop in the prosess till your feeling better . Again much love an suport . 😊 keep rocking on grannies !

The band has had some tough times. the interviews kinda set the tone of why they created this. ALL if you or anyone close is going through depression and having Suicidal thoughts Please I encourage call the Suicide Hotline or go see someone you trust.
