Just a heads up, that's the wrong style of light for the bow. Bow lights are Red/Green to indicate port and starboard. The white light goes on the stern. This is so boaters at night can identify if your vessel is coming towards, going away, or broadside to them.

I've never messed with boats and I never will, but I've gotta tell you I'm a bit concerned about you not replacing the foam under the decking, mate... Manufacturers put it there for a reason... 🤔
@fitzfitz2801
@fitzfitz2801 Жыл бұрын
im all for taking shortcuts where possible but ............... the one you took was removing the styrofoam in the hull and not replacing it its there for several reasons 1 rigitity of the floor , 2 sound deadening , 3 and most important to keep it afloat when it takes on water and it will you wont know the hull is full of water till its sinking the manufacturer put it there for a reason small fishing boats always take on water and you wont know till it has 6-8 inches of water and sinking the sump pump will be under water and most likely will burn out before removing the water

The boat is looking great. I learned something new the (eraser wheels). For myself I like circler saws with the blade on the left side, you can see your blade and the cut, there called worm drive saws, you can get then in 7 1/4 or 4 inches. I also preferer to cut on the ground with 2x4 under the sheet. with sawhorses you get the sheet drop and can bind the blade. One more thing its easier using a paint roller, if bend open the roller frame around 3/4 " . You will enjoy the boat keep up the good work.

To cut arcs with a circular saw, it's best to either set the blade to only stick out a little bit, or hold the saw up so there is much less length of blade in the wood. Makes going around the curves easier.

I hope you don’t mind a few tips from a life time boater Use only marine grade plywood only or all of your work will be for nothing in two or three years Fill every gap and open space with floatation foam you can use pool noodles cut to fit just don’t crush them or it’s useless. If you ever hit an underwater stump or something else your boat might fill with water but it will still float After use don’t cover it until it’s completely dry And don’t waste your money on those cheap orange life vests buy the good ones buy even better ones for your kids Always use the kill strap Get a small folding boarding ladder if ( when ) someone falls in it’s much easier for them to get back in A boating safety class is a great idea and last but maybe most importantly no beer on the boat. I’ve seen way to many idiots drunk and stupid risking there safety along with everyone around them PS. Nice job have fun be safe

@Kennethweaver680
@Kennethweaver680 Жыл бұрын
People usually won’t wear the orange ones because they are uncomfortable and after two years you have to replace them Like I said buy good ones I wear a vest that will inflate when you hit the water and have a collar to keep your face out of the water. You can wear it all day no problem. I have a couple that are 10 years old and still pass coast guard inspection. But we do replace the CO2 cartridge every year Like I said buy the better ones

I would get a second prop and also the shear pins, in case you strike something with the prop the pin will shear saving your motor. All of my family and friends who have boats have at least 1 extra prop and several shear pins. My cousin actually has a special plastic tool box mounted under his gas tank that holds the extra prop, shear pins and the tools he would need to replace them all in one place. A friend of his has several different types of props as he will use his boat on the Gulf of Mexico and also back in the swampy areas up river and a different style of prop works better for those areas.

You are doing a fantastic job on the boat. I think that you will have a good time riding around and fishing in it. You should change the prop because it will vibrate and shake like crazy. It will also take out the bearings in the lower unit. A new water pump impeller would make a big difference in the cooling of the motor, this is an easy and inexpensive job. Enjoy your boat and please be safe.
