You obviously haven't heard a Cosworth DFV in full cry. Back in the day nobody particularly liked the Mazda. It was a great looking car but the noise was a painful screech.

@@housey4297 I disagree completely but it does depend on the chassis. Have a listen to the gold Warsteiner Arrows in this clip from 0:15 onwards. Turn it up. If you can't hear the harmonics then you're missing out. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nbmUdM2q2b7bh2g.html Those are classic Cosworth harmonics. I was brought up on the engines of the 1970s: Cosworth DFV, Ferrari 312B and T, BRM V12, Matra V12 and Alfa Romeo flat 12.

The C11 is incredible it sounds like a WW2 Fighter Plane as you can see as well there were some great Porsche 962 in this Race they won everything in the 80’s but they couldn’t stand up with the mighty Beast Sauber Benz C11.It was in it’s own Class back then.What a legendary Beauty

Yeah, it is. Mercedes didn't do that much to these engines after they changed to the M119. The turbos were not that big to start with but with two of them and some mods made from the original production engine, 720-730 hp was possible and 820 in qualifying (practice, as it was known then). Group C was a fuel allocation formula so maximum power was not the object. Fuel efficiency and reliability were.

Crossplane V8, V4(Aprilia RSV4) and crossplane Inline 4(Yamaha R1). Sound similar because of firing order and angles

Well the crossplane inline 4 is one half of a V8 soo, and the V4 aswell if I should say. It's pretty amazing that you can make a V8 sound from 4 cylinders only, big bang firing orders are cool

The Sauber handed the Mazda it's ass just like it did in the day. The Mazda was MILES off the pace of the Sauber and the sooner the fanboys do some research and realise this the sooner we can get all this adulation for a 1 hit wonder finished with. The Sauber was THE Group C car, the Mazda one of the also rans bar 1 Le Mans victory where is was still 10 seconds off the pace in qualifying.

@@arjunraj3977thanks, I’m well aware. Being a 57 year old and having been trackside in era I am trying to help the ignorant understand what THE car of the era was. Be REALLY clear, it wasn’t the Mazda.
