@catanace17419 ай бұрын
@@KZfaqReviewsAndTutorials An 8 is very unlikely anyway, given the pre-flop action. What Tom really needs to be worried about is pocket aces and kings. There are 24 possible hands with AA or KK that beat him. His QQ is obviously only a bluff catcher at that point, so which bluff hands can the other guy have here? First of all, there are 16 AK combos. In addition there might be some A2-5 of diamonds too, and perhaps even some KQ, QJ, J10 of diamonds (assuming that Tom didn't have the Q of diamonds). So there are almost as many bluffing hands that villain might have there as value hands, making the call not-so-sick, if you disregard the insane amout of money in the pot.

At a certain point you're just in too deep. He could have folded after the first couple bets, but eventually you've already bet so much that you might as well try to scare your opponent off. One lesson, gentlefolk, is if your continuation bet is called and you don't have a pair or a draw, you're very probably behind, which further means the chances are good that if you fire two more barrels, you're getting called all the way, assuming blanks come on the turn and river. Side Note: the effective amount of your flop and turn bets are not the face amount of those bets, if you assume that if an Ace or King is dealt either of those cards will put you in the lead. To calculate the effective cost of those bets, multiply by 6/47 the amount of your bet plus the amount you'll win if called; then subtract that amount from the face value of your bet. The total is then the actual cost of your bet. Experienced expert players will quickly calculate this amount in their heads at the table. If that's not you, you should get in the habit of figuring the effective cost of your bets as you make them.
