to stop the video capture try Ctrl+C (is the standard program exit on the linux shell)

Yeah, it's a bit of a commitment. But on the plus side you can start up your Force without the SD card and run it unmodded anytime or simply reinstall a factory firmware if need be. I've installed several different versions now and never had any issues with it.

Amit Talwar has made a module with additions to the mod that work via a web browser including the screenshot tool I mentioned, an ARP manager, progressions manager, a Linux command helper, and more but he's currently fine tuning it and working on more features. Hopefully it won't be much longer.

I've been working on several videos because there's so much ground to cover with the new version but between losing two beloved pets this past month and other life obstacles, it's been slow going to get them finished. Hoping to have an overview/installation tutorial video out soon though. Thanks for asking!

Can the mod give you MIDI control of any other buttons? I'm so glad to see the scene launch buttons controllable via MIDI, I've been screaming about this in the forums since day one! I would also like midi control of all the other buttons, esp, mute, solo, all the track #s, arp, shift, note, basically ALL the buttons lol. I use two Keith McMillian 12 Step foot controllers that I've always wanted to use one horizontal for mutes/solos and one vertically for scene launches, hands free so I can play guitar/bass/synths. This already puts me halfway there! Thanks for the vids, great job!

Thanks! Not yet but Mockba is working on an option that will allow you to use Lua scripting to access any of the buttons on the Force via midi note or cc so it's not here yet but it's coming!!! And I'm eager for it too!

@@dreamstaticsounds Thanks, I didn't see this message till just now. I finally got onto the warranty voiders right after I commented here and talked to "Mr. Borg" and he said basically the same thing. That its already set up that way but he put a filter on the other buttons to avoid accidental presses. I agree thats the best for most users and I'm elated that I will be able to use the other buttons soon! I think my incessant requests might have contributed to his recent hiatus lol(I'm only half joking). thanks for the info!

I didn't make the mod I just use it but I doubt that's possible. There is Lua scripting capabilities but I don't know the full scope of capabilities with that.

Nice tutorial. Could you please give me a hint where to find the pdf for the mockba automation e.g. "the note list". I installed the mod 10 minutes ago but cannot find it on the FB group.

I think it's possible. I'm assuming you're familiar with Kikgen's IamForce project. I know Kikgen and Mockba talk. Might be worth asking Kikgen to consider taking Mockba's firmware and making a modded IamForce with it.

That would be fantastic but something like that may be a long way off if possible at all. I keep hoping either Akai or a modder will find a way.

@@janeway1111 the biggest hurdle is that Akai's Force software is still proprietary and the only way to get around that short of Akai making it opensource or making an API that plugin developers could use, would be to reverse engineer all the code and that would be a lengthy process that would take up a ton of time that folks who are modding this thing don't really have the luxury of committing to a nonpaid project.

Is it possible to go back to the factory OS after this mod, or is it a one way street?

Absolutely. All you have to do is reinstall one of the factory firmware versions. And if you boot up without the SD card in it boots without the mod anyway.

Hi. Is there a way to transplant this firmware into 'hacked mpc'? I use Thekikgen firmware for MPC live, and I've managed to remap buttons on live for my use case. It uses SD card with image on it to launch into Force if SD card is inserted. Unfortunately there are few bugs/annoyances. What I'm looking for is to launch next scene with footswitch/midi command. The problem is I want to use 2 keyboards and both should change patches. So far I've gotten to write 'mute' automation for EACH instument on EACH clip, and unmute only when I need it. So one of the problems I've found is when you play midi notes at the start of the clip it wouldnt play. This is absolutely frustrating to try and do it with force. Also play back audio clips results in stuttering. Any idea what's happening here? I've tried HAKAI too, but it seems that stuttering persists. I use same base set as it has all macros assigned for audio tracks etc

Not that I know of. Mockba and Kikgen are friends though so you might try reaching out to them and see. I know Mockba has been pretty much on hiatus for a while now though.

@@dreamstaticsounds Ok. Kikgen seem to be a bit asocial. The problem with notes cutting off audio clips is present only also mpk mini me 3 played into tube synth. What the?! If I route it through midi track it’s working as should. Just to show you that force is still raw in its development.

Not as of yet but I believe Mockba and Amit are working on this. I had the idea to trigger the tap tempo button with the mod to do this. It might be a bit complex to pull off though. I'm not the programmer so I'm not sure.
