A PopSocket is so satisfying to fidget with. So I wanted to do it 3,200 times. I hope you enjoy seeing my DIY wall art, kinetic sculpture come to life. And then see the fidgety art installation in motion along with me flipping out and becoming completely stress free. PopSockets...er.... NotSockets are the coolest wall decor and I suggest everyone put at least one phone grip on their wall. Still not sure if I like the popping or the socketing better.

Awesome how after so much calculation, Ali's artistic intuition ruled as the best choice for the final design. That's years of study, practice, experience and passion for ya. You're the balls, Spagnola! (phrase coined by a Carnegie Mellon friend and sculpture major from my time there in the 80's).

This reminds me of a time also at CMU in the 80's when someone covered the entire interior walls and ceiling of the College of Fine Arts Elevator with half eggshells. Like a thousand little cups they had been glued to all the surfaces. It was very cool. Apparently the CMU arts curriculum fosters a lot of patience.

I've always wanted to this, but instead of COVERING a whole wall, I thought it would be cool to take a lot and stick them on my wall but spaced apart so I could pop them out to hang stuff on them, and pop them in to save space!

That's neat. I never pop my bubble wrap because I like to put it in various places to add insulation to my house. I know that's odd and really not super efficient, but if it gives any insulation value, I'm still better off doing that than just throwing the stuff away after popping it. With these, one would get the stress relief of popping the bubbles over and over.

Ideas: pull out every one and then lean against it to make a body imprint like one of those old pin toys for your hand. Write each other messages in the wall. I would have recommended affixing some sort of foam core board (you can get a 2x3 board at the dollar store) as a flat background on your wall first, so when you remove them, you can transplant to work easily to another wall and also don't have to deal with all the repair work to the wall. ;)

This brought me so much joy my husband ran into the room to see me giggling instead of crying. His first reaction was that since its in your home gym you should try using it for a climbing wall so now we have a bet - he thinks if you distribute enough weight across enough sockets you can cling like Spider-Man without them falling off. I think you’ll at best rip them down, at worst rip a hole in your wall...wanna try it?

Your landlord just needs to realize the market that he would totally be able to profit from if he didn't change anything when you leave. Like the number of people that would want to live in or rent a few nights in Ali's old apartment is ridiculous.
