In the AK hand on the K62 board, there's not really any cards that are a scare card for you - if there is a tiny chance he can be bluffing (and we're never folding) I don't mind flat calling and getting it in on the turn.

Good rule of thumb for live poker is 4-5x BB's (I do 4x for 2/5 and 5x for 1/3) plus one BB for every limper. $45 is wayyyyyyy too low on an aggressive table when it limps to you on the button. $50-$60+ would be the min you should be raising and adjusting that amount for the level of aggressiveness.

Great vlog - well done. 1. Correct strategy for double board bomb pots is the same as it is for any "split pot" game: aim for the whole damn pot. So if you have a strong/nutty hand on one board, bet big to blow people off the other one. Similarly, don't call when you think you "might" be good on one board - that way lies bustoville. 2. Yes, you should have bet the aces on the river to target a ten or a queen. 3. Nice shove on the 8-high-straight board. Yeah, you probably don't get many folds, but you made your opponent's life miserable (he knew he was calling to chop) and that's how you win at poker. 4. Put a chip on your cards to protect your hand, youngster. 5. *ESPECIALLY* put a chip on your cards to protect your hand when you're in the #1 or #9. 6. Great work, keep it up.

12:07 If I had to guess, I’d say this guy had a weaker king like KQ or KJ or KT. I could see myself taking a similar line with queens or jacks, although that’s less likely than K-x. I don’t think he had less, given that he bet so much and went into the tank for that long before folding. Since it’s live poker, I could see fishies overbetting with A6 or some such. Definitely not air, since he tanked for quite some time. 17:39 I actually love this line of thinking! The expected value of striking first and being aggressive is usually better than that of passively checking it down. You were in position and the first one to telegraph strength in a bomb pot; that you may also have had air probably wouldn’t occur to your average live players, and it doesn’t make sense for anyone to go for a check raise trap in a double board anyway. Furthermore, for that particular runout you were 100 percent right that there would be precious few hands that connect with both boards, so you would have gotten them to fold more often than not. Even if you got called down, think of it as advertising the false image of a loose fun gambler for when you bet big with a monster. Mike Caro used to do that early in sessions with air and gleefully show down his bluffs, so that people would call down his big hands later. Also, I’m very impressed with your video editing skills. Frankly, I’m more impressed that casinos let you film!

In your second bomb pot hand, you can count on the shorty having the top board, so you don't want to just split with him by forcing other players out, so you need to keep the other (3rd) player in the hand - that's where your value is going to come from. EDIT: thought you shoved into a player with remaining action, which is apparently not what happened.

I'd suggest a more familar-to-many 1-5 stars "internet review" rating scale for the poker rooms Mar, since you're not judging numerous categories. Seems like Jamul would get 3.5 stars ; ) Yeah, from watching previous MUG's by vloggers, it seems like people usually splash around in MUG's, not play their "A" game. The guy vs. your AK probably had a strong case of fancy play syndrome in that hand. I bet he would've proudly shown his weak/weaker hand to u if he'd gotten u to fold. Lol

Would like to share a situation about and get some feedback. I work offshore in the oil and gas industry as a construction contractor. So i move from facility to facility. Normally there will be some card players and a short handed tournament 6 - 7 players for ten to twenty bucks. After the work day... Ive dominated these games for years. However this new place where im at.... i could be here indefinitely and they play the craziest cash game ive ever heard of (i am crushing it). 1-2 no limit max buy in $20! After one hour it turns to a 2-4 no limit and nobody can cash out until its heads up and both have to agree. They know nothing about poker etiquette or even the rules... Cards are dealt and the flop turnand river are placed face down before any action. I feel bad and have even suggested we play a tournament but faced resistance to the idea. Anyway needed to vent im conflicted as i dont want to fleece guys i work with ... But still want to play

When you got quartered, was there two pots because of the one player being all-in? I was trying to calculate pot odds, pretty sure you got nit-rolled by Johnnie. He's got a full house for chrissakes.
@MikeTidman
@MikeTidman 4 жыл бұрын
It wasn't exactly quartered, it was only splitting the top pot with the short stack. So if 3rd player is all in for $300, the $300 comes into the main, and is split with one half of that pot going to Johnny for the bottom, and the other half of the side between Johnny and Mariano going to Mariano. The main is split with half going to Johnny for bottom, and then Mariano and 3rd player chopping for top.
@snowmonkey4863
@snowmonkey4863 4 жыл бұрын
@@MikeTidman Yes, I figured this was the case, but the explanation and the video wasn't too clear. Double bomb pots with multiple all-ins have got to be so annoying for the dealers to award, unless somehow they get more in tips because of multiple "winners".
