Love this new concept!!! It is about time someone did something different and gave people basically what they want for holidays and relaxing after work hours. And with this boat you don’t have to go too far to enjoy the outdoors !!! Literally! Nice. So many entertaining areas! Keeping a stock up of food and drink will cost a fortune!

It definitely has its pros and cons. From other boats that size you're losing a "master cabin" and any crew area, but it seems like this is the most "RV" feeling one I've seen. Having the main salon where it is also allows it to be the full beam of the boat, rather than usually losing a couple of feet on each side for decks.

Wow, that's absolutely amazing. That huge living area on water level, uninterrupted by side decks, that galley with that atrium, a day head, another big salon next to that beautiful helm, the cosy raised cockpit looks better than a traditional one because you dont have that huge wheelhouse, the slanted doors and that short connection to the flybridge, incredible. That massive front deck area, AND a flybridge.. It has more exterior and more interior spaces than a conventional layout, thanks to that "out of the way engine position" and the mid-level mezzanine layout. All of this comes at the price of a proper master cabin. I think that concept would absolutely rule on a 70 footer. My new favourite yacht, especially for warm climates. I'd still have the Harkvoort for Scandinavia and such, but at this size and type of boat, I think that Van Der Valk beach club concept is the future. Thanks for the great walkaraound.

What a beautiful reflection of how most boats are used. It really, really makes sense. Instead of designing a boat the way it's "supposed to be designed," this was designed for the way people use boats. Very intriguing. That swim platform looked like ACRES of open space. Wild.

Been looking for you to review this one. One of the most innovative uses of space in a long time thanks to Volvo IPS, NO SQUEAKY DECKING ! The lower saloon is not restricted by side decks because they are on the next level up gives you loads of space. ( North Pacific 49 does this also). The profile of the boat is very pretty also, but I bet she had heavy traffic at Cannes. In my mind I am comparing this to the Lexus L650 fly ( a Carver with a fancy paint job) and the Lexus gets blown away by this beauty ! Blown away by 16 inch battle ship guns ! This boat would great to have in the Bahamas !

I'm loving the layout on this yacht, not seen anything like that before. Plenty of outside social space for during the day to enjoy the sun then as the sun goes down a great aft indoor area as well on sea level to carry on partying. Then just a short stroll to your cabins on the same level with no stairs to worry about. Superb. Thanks for the tour.

I like the hundred footer deck plans! Definitely lets the philosophy come into its own with a crew area serving the galley and a sexy triple inside helm. Definitely a harbour queen. Everything from the exposed foredeck galley/bar which will take the full brunt of waves crashing over the bow (and may even block visibility from the interior helm), to the very extensive (and admittedly stylish) fenestration in the hull which would be a source of anxiety in a storm, to the engines themselves accessible only from one of the wettest parts of the boat during any sort of weather. With all that out of the way, it's still very cool. The blonde woods are charming and inviting and the sliding door straight onto the bathing platform has always been something I've liked on the few boats I've seen that feature it. I would definitely have a cabin back there. The heads are a bit unglamorous for my taste, and having both a dayhead and a separate, non-ensuite head for the guest cabins feels a bit redundant. Nice to see a washer and dryer.

I applaud the innovative layout. Personally, I'm not sure that the light and airy atrium feel could have better been used for more relaxation space in the cockpit area instead. This layout would be ideal on a bigger boat perhaps. I'm not wishing to sound too harsh as it's all down to style tastes. No doubting it's a nice boat. Sadly a lot of Dutch shipyards have been closed the last couple of decades. However if you want a luxurious custom made yacht there is no denying that Dutch yachts are one of the, if not the, best ones out there. Durable hulls and an insane number of options for the prospective owner. I would love if you would be able to do a walkthrough of other Dutch made yachts like the Damen ones or Heesen ones, when I worked at an industrial wholesale company I had the pleasure of working with these (and Van der Valk of course) shipyards. Although given the made to order nature of the yachts I can imagine it is harder to do so than with the assembly line yachts.

Its like a treehouse on water with the configuration of a soft play centre. It's odd, I'm not sure it works but I like it - Come to think of it, as an owner managed boat, if I was onboard for a long while (say as a early retired couple) I think having many areas where i/we could spend time alone and/or together would work well. It's design allows guests to go off and find themselves in their own space without resulting to hiding away in there cabins - Epic advantage -

Wow, Denison usually do their own high quality reviews so kudos to them for letting you have this kick at the can. I think there is a market interested in both the Aluminium hull and departure from the same old basic layout. For this you can find an alternate layout / colours at the link to Denison above under the video details. Launch the site, then search "67' Van Der Valk." Seems to come with Volvo Penta Pod drives, guesstimate likely "the" typical range ~ 300 - 400 miles at cruising speed, it's not one of those long range boats which people may associate with Aluminium hulls.

My jaw litteraly dropped when I saw tilted sliding door at the beginning - not once, but twice! Obviously such a generous use of space leads to compromises, but my how it adds to sleekness of the design and lights the interior! I just don't get why whenever there is a boat featuring a lowered beach club on your channel, an avalanche of complaints rant about how they'd miss the view of the sea for a couple of hours a day while being on a week long cruise. Not that most flush bc's are just tender garages adapted for hanging a hammock... Only weak spot I'd mention is soundproofing. On a ship like that you wouldn't want to have reverberation comparable to that of a fishing boat

An Interesting layout - a few comments: • We didnt get to see the engines - unusual? • The glass skylight to the master cabin will cause major headaches when accessing the forward sun deck underway - if wet will be very slippery! • The forward sundeck’s railing wasn’t carried around the prow - so people will need to be very careful. • The layout prevents guest cabins from having at least one with en-suite bathroom access. • The atrium wastes space in favour of style. There could have been an internal extension of the cockpit at that level. Having said all that - if I was given one I wouldn’t turn it down!! Think though that other manufacturers options are better. Thanks for another great review Nick thank you!

Nice boat! Interior has an IKEA-like look...

I absolutely love the fact of this boat being so different, two minor points are the furniture looks a little cheap (like IKEA) I'm sure it's not. The second is the master bedroom roof light is fantastic (especially with those bow windows) but I can't help think it will be an ice skating rink when wet outside 🏂 but I would gladly have one today 😃

Wow, just wow. Every time I think this is the best one I have ever seen. And you jut proved me wrong again, haha. Indeed, this is so radically different from any other boat you have shown us. Amazing, I totally love it! It feels so open and light. Brilliant design and layout :)

Whow,Nick. :) :) :) The Dutch people not only have lovely fields with tulips, windmills and edam chees, they also have great knowledge in building super nice boats also, lovely presented by you. I was a little bit worried over the fact that there where no “fence” in the bow of the boat?? And what was that big white thing on the side of the “beach area” to the left, when you entering the boat Nick. PS.When the day come, for you to put your camera on the “shelf” your new career should be that of a teacher teaching other photographers, howe they should make a smooth and pleasant presentation of whatever they want to show for there viewers. That is my humble opinion, only :) :) :)

Pretty sure that the white thing is a folding crane for lifting a tender on to the bathing platform. Thanks for the kind words!

really only 66ft its massive. I think you out any tenders on the aft deck. Pity you did not get access to the engine part, would have loved to see how they did that.

Yes, the white box as I stepped on is a folding crane I believe.

Hi Patrick, I'm sure #AQUAHOLIC won't mind me listing an inferior tour, but it shows the engine bay open. He also talks about the crane at the end of the video. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r69iZKqTqq69aGQ.html

@@IsThisAvailable550 big thanks mate, the tour was not inferior just different but it added some info Nick did not cover and those two make it a very accurate tour combined.
