In the previous meeting against Amos, we played on the slower, bigger, outdoor Tampines Safra courts. I took on the moonball challenge against him and lost in a third set super tiebreak.
This time he comes to my regular court. The fast, indoor Heartbeat@Bedok courts.
Ever since I tweaked my serve toss arm, I seem to have lost my flat first serve, so I put a bit more mental effort into getting it back today.
I was determined not to get into moonball rallies. I had to take balls on the rise either with topspin or slice. And commit to my net rushing style of play.
All the factors put together gave me the win today. 6-2, 6-2.
Hi! I’m Ray and I play NTRP 3.5-4.0-ish level tennis in Singapore. Many players are self-rated on an app called Reclub, where we find hitting partners.
I’m (red shirt) self-rated 3.5, I serve and volley and rush the net whenever the opportunity arises. I use a Head Gravity Pro with 6grams added to the handle, strung with RPM blast at 36lbs (ECT reading: 28).
