As a hardcore Mumbaikar, I can not think of Mumbai without Parsi Restaurants. These Parsi restaurants have added a unique dimension to Mumbai's social and culinary life style. Chai bole to Irani restaurant, Kapi bole to Udupi / South Indian restaurant and Vada/Misal bole to Maharashtrian Upahar Griha.

Khud ko toh ek dakshin ka word theek se aata nahi....English ka bhi doubt hai... ...udagamandalam ko Ooty bolke ghumenge but sablog mumbai bolneka ....Germany ko Deutschland bolega kya. Anyway what is there in Bombay is what the British left us with..Marine Drive, VT station, Bombay Central, all the udipi and Irani cafes, the maidans and the beautiful South Bombay Buildings. Tum ek bmc ka school bhi nahi chala paya theek se... Bas ghamand leke baithe reh bhai...20% tumlog city ka bas...next time bmc se bhi nikal denge just like state govt.

My favourite Madras cafe 1) podi idli 2) Rasam wada 3)Coffe I am not a big fan of Prakash wada but their Sabudana wada and Piyush are great Irani cafe for Half Fry eggs and Brun maska with chai.

Yet another, one of the finest episode of Khane Me Kya Hai. The variety of breakfast dishes that you have tried in this episode is absolutely fantastic. Mumbai is a huge city, and many communities bring their own culture, food and lifestyle with them. It is really fascinating that how beautifully Mumbai has incorporated them all together and made them its own. I lived in Matunga ( near Ruia college) in 70's. My favourite has been Mysore Cafe ( A.Rama ayak's). Madras cafe not that great. Irani cafe was my evening Tea ( biscuit) awesome meeting place .

God bless your digestive system -- very lucky guy indeed, Kunal. I am from Hyderabad, another city famous for being multi-cuisine centre. Presently I am settled in Toronto, Canada and crave good food. However , food from around the world is available here, but me and the family miss the 'Zaaiqua' (taste) of the subtle blend of all the condiments we are used to, since the past 72 years (my age). Whenever we get bored and tired of eating the same bland fare, we switch ON the Television and tune in to your channel Khane mein kya Hai, it is a solace to our palates. In my younger days doing a daily drive between Thane and Nariman Point(!), Madras Cafe was my break point! The crowds are just incredible! In spite of the large Gujarati Customer base, the usual sugar overdose is absent! Genuine Madras flavours! You can buy fresh `gunpowder' and if you follow your nose across the road you will get fresh ground Coffee from Mysore Concerns! The Parsi Breakfast is mind-blowing! If one succumbs to temptation and orders more than one dish, then one can go smoothly till 4 pm without a hitch! Would have liked to see Cyrus digging in to that Irani Breakfast! On the other hand....
