Cooking on a Budget! 3 Cheap Dollar Tree Meals $15 Budget for Quick Budget Dinners

Dollar Tree in New York City is seriously frustrating because they are usually not very organized and either hit or miss on what they have in stock.
I did travel just north of New York City to Westchester County to this Dollar Tree and they had more items and a better selection.
To be perfectly honest: I am enjoying making these meals and I am enjoying gifting them to my son. He has been away from home for a little while and is enjoying his momma's cooking again too. The Cornbread Chicken Pot Pie Casserole was his favorite!
I am going to try not to get hooked on making Dollar Tree budget meals but I will say that I have already been back to Dollar Tree.
Don't me surprised if you see a few more Dollar tree videos pop up in the next few weeks.

My first kiddo is in his senior year of high school and we are prepping him for college! $15 and all these meals! This is exactly what he needs. Thank you for this!

My grandmother's cornbread recipe, perfect every time! Grandma's cornbread 1 box yellow cake mix 1 box Jiffy cornbread mix 1/3 cup milk 4 eggs 5 tablespoons butter melted 1 cup water 1 can creamed corn Mix cake mix and corn bread mix together in a large bowl. Add remaining ingredients and stir well. The batter should be nice and thick. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan or lined muffin tin. Bake at 325-degrees for 40 minutes, or until baked through. Use the "toothpick test" to determine doneness. If baking in a muffin tin, bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown and baked through.

Rofl, I love the part of the video with your cornbread confessio.I suspect we all have things like that. Jello and oatmeal took me forever to master and they are the ultimate in simple. This was a really good video. Keep your budget meals coming, whether from $ Tree or not.

You did great I really didn’t think layering the corn bread and the chicken mixture would work but it looked absolutely delicious. It was beautiful good job.

Appreciate your informative video....I recently went to the Dollar Tree to pick up quick, easy to prepare food for two sisters living on either side of me whose mother died. When I checked out the total came to $40!! All my items were $4. I would have been better off to go to a major grocery store and pick up fresh produce. You are teaching me. Thanks!

Wow! Im glad you found this video and glad it provided some great information and ideas! Dollar Tree doesnt carry fresh produce but they have the next best thing which is frozen. I try to stay away from the items that are more than $1.25 and try to be a little creative

No shame in doctoring some cornbread mix...my mom would do it when time was tight. I knew she was tired. Throw some drained corn or peppers in it, a little cheddar and most ppl aren't gonna say a dang word! 😂

It's not about buying cheap it's about the high quality as you wouldn't want your family to eat products with low key ingredients.
