If you do decide to date, be very careful. I personally would never date someone I've met online. Only people I've met at school or, preferably, my church. And even then, you can't be too cautious. My condolences on your husbands passing. Stay strong. 🙂

Many years ago I was dumped by a guy I really liked. We had both been invited to the same party, which was going to be happening in a few days and I didn't want to arrive alone to it, so I looked through the local paper for people looking to date likeminded people. I talked to one guy a few times and really liked him. We decided to have dinner before the party and he met me at the restaurant. It didn't take long for me to realized that this guy was quite shy in person and I ended up telling funny stories to take up the slack. Eventually I mentioned that I had been attacked by some guy walking home from the bus stop a few years ago, when I was still living at home but working, and how I fought him off, but how he still managed to hurt me a lot, leaving his hand prints on my neck, that sort of thing. As I was telling him what the guy looked like, that he was tall, with dark wavy hair, rectangular shaped glasses, etc., I realized that he was tall, had dark wavy hair and rectangular shaped glasses. By now this guy had become very still, looked very uncomfortable and ill, and was looking at me intently and it occurred to me that this could very well be the guy who had attacked me. I said that I needed the bathroom, but in reality I went to the back and spoke to the owner of the restaurant who knew me and had him call me a taxi. Luckily I never heard from this guy again.

I made the mistake of meeting a girl I got to know online at the club near my apartment that I went to almost every night back then, but I decided the chemistry wasn't there and I didn't want to see her again... she started showing up there looking for me and got pretty stalkery, so I couldn't go back to my favorite haunt until I got word that she hadn't been seen there looking for me for a while.

I met a girl on hinge about a month ago. We talked nonstop for a couple weeks - via text, Instagram, snapchat, phone calls. Then one day she drove an hour to my place after work where we met in person for the first time. I guess we’re idiots for that, but she ended up staying the night (this was like 1.5 weeks ago) and she’s coming over again tomorrow to spend the whole day with me and sleep over... soooo meeting people online doesn’t always end in disaster :)
