3-day Red Deer Hunt - New Zealand

Join me as I head back into the bush for another hunting adventure. It has been a while since I was last out and it is time to break my dry spell.
There is mixed weather in store for us, with a high coming in a couple of days, however the winds are likely to remain for most of the hunt.

Yep - clean humane shot in the right place or don't shoot at all & keep these spots off the web mate - others of us go there & there's a few people including you who just can't keep quiet for 5 minutes of fame , then wonder why there's so many people at the road entrances or hunting at 'your' spot good video otherwise, cheers

What caliber and projectile mate? I've shot deer at 350y+ with 95gr sst's in 243 with 10mph wind and never given that much wind hold. I know the spot you're at too. I take my quad in and can get it right round the track end at the bottom of the big clearings...

Hey Tim, I use a ballistic app and estimated the wind. I used a 300 Win Mag with 200gr ELD ammo. On my later trip to the same place I checked my accuracy on a rock (maybe 6" in size) at 594 yards and shattered the rock. I can only assume the wind was going the opposite direction down range. I'll likely post another video, but didn't shoot anything on the latest trip. Saw two deer at around 900 yards directly to the front of the clearing, way up the gully.

Oh Stan, you've put a smile on my face mate. Wait for the next video and you'll see what I can do without wind bending the bullet. We should catch up for a hunt sometime soon to share a laugh.
