@DriverD Trains #3 - Designing the D-Saver Layout
Welcome to Driver D trains. Thanks for stopping by! I’m your host Driver D. Joining us is our conductor and brakeman, Scratchy C.

In this video, I’ll take you through the process and show you how I designed the D-Saver, the small 1’ x 6’ HO Scale switching puzzle layout I built on a shelf, that is my version of John Allen’s famous Timesaver layout. If you haven’t already seen my previous videos, please check them out!

In my next video I’ll show you how I control my trains, how I assembled a DCC command station using an Arduino Mega micro-controller and associated hardware, and how I installed DCC-EX software on the Arduino, and WiThrottle apps on my phone and tablet to run my trains and control the layout. In later videos I will show you how I set up JMRI to program my locomotives, and how I use JMRI throttles to help me run my locomotives. And I will introduce you to my custom designed D-Saver switching puzzle app running in Microsoft Excel, which I use to generate the switching puzzles and keep track of all the operating sessions.
And just like the layout itself, I have lots of upgrades planned for the DCC system as well as the D-Saver App. So be sure to subscribe to the channel, like the video, and hit the notification bell so you won’t miss the next installment.
All aboard!
